My mouth fell open. I was in complete shock. All I could focus on was the constant repeating of Jules' voice.
"You're staying."
"You're staying."
"You're sta-"
My entire body snapped out of the trance as I nearly choked on a fly.
Haven't you eaten enough?
Not. Funny.
Actually, it's really funny! HAHAHA!
Wait? I thought I had escaped my trance?
And the side-effect is that you finally have brains. In your stomach.
Huh?
From the fly!
You're so annoying...
I could say the same.
Let's just stop this conversation and gently tell Jules we're leaving.
Okay, time for the second round.
When did we watch wrestling?
AND BEGIN!
~~
Mud flew around. She was easily thrown off her feet in the small inflatable pool. Troye grinned widely as another battle cry sounded from the mud. The mud flew around again as the comeback succeeded. However, the cheering soon ended as she pulled her now regained victim with her.
I can't believe you couldn't handle Jules.
Can you shut up! I tried!
Not hard enough, obviously.
Can you please shut up? It's already bad enough.
I like teasing you way too much to stop.
Shut up!
You've said that three times now. Did it work?
Pff. Unfortunately not.
It's funny how you can't even handle your own mind.
Excuse me? Are you serious? You're so heartless! Why can't you just be nice?
I see the fly-effect has worn off...
What?
I'm your mind. I don't have a heart. Duh.
Can I please watch the mudfight now? I had to survive those stupid board games and now I can at least watch something fun, but you're spoiling it.
We had spent two hours of stupid board games. Brandon had tried grabbing my hand or having our legs touch multiple times. Luckily for me, we were now watching a mudfight on TV.
Since Troye and Jules had taken up one couch together, I had once again been forced to sit next to Brandon. He hadn't tried something, though. Maybe he finally got the message.
Probably not. He's just a stupid teenage boy, who, by the way, has MAJOR mood swings!
Let's just hope you're wrong on this one.
Why can't I once be stupid like you?
It takes a lot of training.
I'm sure it does.
It does!
Keep telling yourself that, honey.
Honey?
Is that the only thing you got from that sentence?
Oh you love me.
Sure. Everybody loves someone who doesn't even take the time to answer a question. Wait... what's that sound?
What sound?
It sounds like an alarm.. A sarcasm detecter. It keeps beeping. Oh well I guess it knows me too well.
You're a bitch.
You are indeed.
Wait, what?
If I'm a bitch and I am you, then you are a bitch.
Damn. I don't like you.
Puh-lease! We both know you do.
Okay, maybe a little..
A little?
Don't push it.
Using my line now? Make up your own.
See? That's why I don't like you!
Oh but you do.
I don't.
Stop being so stubborn and admit it already.
Fine.
I'm still waiting.
I LIKE YOU! OKAY?
Ouch.. did you just say that out loud?
NO NO NO NO NO!
The color drained from my face. I looked around the room. Troye looked surprised. He knew I didn't like Brandon.. His eyebrows furrowed as I gave him a pleading look. He opened his mouth to speak but closed it again. Next to him was Jules with a smug smile on her face. She turned her head back to the television. I let my gaze fall to the floor, not wanting to look at Brandon. Curiosity soon got the best of me and my gaze fell upon him. He was sitting closer than before and had a great smile on his face. I noticed him scooting over even closer.
"I..I....." I face palmed. "I was talking to my inner self. Or more like arguing with her.." I muttered the last part.
"So you don't like me?" Brandon looked at his hands as he forced that question out.
"I-I.."
Just tell him the truth, he's already hurt.
"No."
"Oh.. Okay."
And with that he left the room.
"I think it's time for you two to leave." That sentence made the silence disappear, but my disbelief replaced it. Now she wanted me to go? I tried so hard to leave this house, but SHE wouldn't let me.
Let it go, this is your chance to leave.
You're right.
I stood up and walked into the hallway, while keeping my head down. Me being my clumsy self, I walked into a wall. But this wall was soft.
Oh no..
Geez, calm down! It's not Brandon! It´s your coat, hanging on the wall. It´s surprisingly soft though..
I let out a sigh and a small laugh followed it.
"Jules, come on." I heard my brother's voice urge.
"No, Troye. I want you to leave."
"But-" He was cut off.
"Listen, Troye. Eventhough this night has been a bit.. dramatic, I think your sister is nice. I might not want her over, but that doesn't change what we have." A silence followed. Troye probably nodded and went in for a hug. "Now leave."
And with that, Troye walked into the hallway, grabbed his coat and together we went home.
~~~~
Well, that was a late update.
To be honest, I don't really like this story. It's so overly dramatic... I do like the conversations between Jordan and herself, but the rest.. I don't know. Please let me know what you think!
Oh by the way, did I fool you with the mud fight part?
