My name is Sierra Chaffee, I am 14 years old. I can remember writing ever since I was just a little girl. As I got older I began to write poetry to cope with stress. I grew up with abuse, loneliness, and depression. I often felt abandoned like the pair of feet in my poem. I felt like I was walking through a sea of glass all alone. Finally, an angel swept me into their arms.

The Feet And The Source

© Sierra Chaffee

Abused and abandoned, A pair of feet walk through a sea of glass, Each shard breaking through the frail naked skin, A trail of blood and teardrops begin to follow the gory feet.

Desperate and despondent, The crimson feet continue to walk, Each foot straining and breaking, Bleeding like the bloody wounds of a soldier.

Shrieking in terror, A flash before the sea, A twinkle of hope comes, From near above, The source so radiant and placid continues toward the ruby and pearl shining feet.

A sense of calmness yet astonishment powers over the scene, Such an imperturbable figure settles down to the sea of shining pearls.

The once desolate pair of feet, In complete disremember of the agony, Is now in bewilderment.

The brilliant source gathers the demolished feet, And carries the weeping feet into the arms of an angel.
