Interview of the young and talented Mahnoor Farook. She’s 13 and wants to be a photographer. I came across her page and got really shocked that this came from just a 13 year old girl? UNBELIEVABLE!!
Q1: Tell us about yourself.
Ans: I’m Mahnoor Farook and I’m 13 and I’m in 8th grade studying presently at APSACS Hyderabad. I love music and I’m a complete junkie. Photography is my hobby
Q2: How did you discover this talent of photography in yourself and when did you decide to take it seriously?
Ans: I actually started taking random pictures on functions and random things around our house and mostly trips since we traveled a lot and mostly by road so there were a lot of interesting things to capture. My biggest support has been my elder sister and she persuaded me to focus on what I had captured and then I realized that the pictures were pretty good. So then I started my facebook page and I got a big revenue in a small amount of time and it’s been almost 1 year and its going terrific all thanks to Allah and obviously my likers.
Q3: Who is your inspiration in this field?
Ans: My inspiration is definitely Waliya Najib of Waliya Najib Photography.I just love her work, she’s so creative and fun and I always feel lit up after seeing her photos. Her pictures mean so much and they always reflect a positive idea.
Q4: What are you doing when you aren't taking photos?
Ans: I’m usually studying since I’m an eighth grader and have a lot of work to do but in my free time I’m usually taking pictures or just doing something creative.
Q5. When did you get your very own first camera?
Ans: I got my first camera when I was around 12 and it was a gift by my khala.And I used to take it everywhere and take pictures of almost everything.
Q6: What initially interested you into photography?
Ans: I just found taking pictures more fun than being in one (though I do love modeling lol) but I just loved the idea of capturing moments which would never come back again and later remembering them and feeling happy.
Q7: Every photographer has love with a particular subject such as landscapes, potraits, nature etc. What are you interested in the most?
Ans: I guess I just love it all too much to pick one.
Q8: Whats your dream project?
Ans: My dream project is to do a collab with Waliya Najib because I’m a huge fan of her.
Q9: Do you plan to pursue photography later when you grow up professionally?
Ans: I haven’t really given this a thought but I do hope so. And I also believe that if you can do it for joy, then you can do it forever so lets see what’s in store for me.
