"So you just grabbed smoothies with him then ?" I asked Stephanie as she was describing her post pizza party activities.
Once I got back to the clubhouse after my walk, I found a corner and curled up with a book for a few hours followed by horribly losing at a game of chess.
Stephanie was tripping over her words attempting to describe yesterday's events with the guy from the Eagles she met and grabbed smoothies.
"Ohh it's such a tragedy," I dramatically said as I finished combing my hair. I was petty proud of myself and woke up early this morning.
"What ?" Stephanie quickly chuckled.
"Ohh it's so cute, you're a modern day Capulets and Montagues," I joked as we headed out.
————————-
Classes were shockingly worse than what I expected. I couldn't feel my hand after my morning classes.
"Ahh I feel like my head is about to explode," I joked as we grabbed food from the outdoor cafeteria.
"Don't be so dramatic, it was only history and math this morning. It wasn't that bad," Stephanie joked as we sat down to find some seats.
"Hey, you're Olivia right ?" I turned around to see someone in an Eagle uniform standing in front of me.
"Yeah, who are you ?" I asked. Why was the captain of the Eagles talking to me.
"Yeah ! Glad you remembered me, are you sure you're not secretly an Eagle," he joked back.
"I'm pretty sure I have the athletic ability of a squirrel, but thanks for the offer," I replied.
He leaned over and whispered "I wouldn't eat that shrimp quesadilla if I were you. You usually want to avoid sea food here." He then went back to go sit with his house who also seemed rather interested in what he was doing.
It was pretty obvious that he had a girlfriend. He also didn't seam like the friendly type, so there had to be something I was missing.
I sat down at a table with a couple other of my house members who didn't seem to notice my conversation with Dan.
"So how were everyone's mornings," Bruce another Raven member asked our small table.
"Better than Olivia's morning," Stephanie checked as she went back to eating her burger.
"What was so crappy about Olivia's morning,"I tuned to see Leo sitting next to me.
"She had math this morning," Stephanie replied.
"Ohh the horror," Leo mocked back.
I sat quietly as I continued to eat my lunch, except for the shrimp quesadilla. My mind kept wandering back to the text message I got yesterday. I'm safe now.
I kept telling myself that the entirety of lunch.———————-
It felt like hours were passing by as I was doing my homework, more like attempting to do it.
"Hey Stephanie, can I have a moment to talk to Olivia ?" I looked up to see Leo standing next to Stephanie who I quickly gave her the okay to leave.
"What did he want ?" Leo asked the second Stephanie left.
"Who ?" I quickly asked back. Was this some sort of weird quiz because I was not in the mood."Daniel," Leo replied as he leaned back in his chair. Was this some type of interrogation ?
"What does it matter to you ?" I asked as I went back to doing one of my homework problems.
"I'm you're captain so answer my question !" Leo quickly replied.
"Are you two in some kind of long distance relationship because I think he is cheating on you with the blonde who he can't stop smooching nonstop," I replied without even looking up.
" Fine, whatever, pretend I never asked," Leo replied while walking away. The second he left Stephanie swooped back to the table and asked, "So...what was that all about ?"
"He wanted to know what Daniel said to me at lunch today, apparently he thinks there is something going on. He probably thinks I'm a traitor," I replied while laughing.
"If you don't mind me asking, what did Daniel talk to you about ?" She sheepishly replied.
"He warmed me not to eat the shrimp quesadilla, but I think he mainly did it to piss off Leo. What's up with all of this fierce competition ? I don't get it, why can't we just have a friendly competition ?" I replied while putting away my books.
"Oh hey, I forgot to give this to you," Stephanie said as she placed my old phone that I drowned on the table.
"It doesn't work anymore, water damaged at the beach," I quickly replied before snatching the phone off the table.
"Well you're in luck because I think it still works," she said as she left to go to bed.
