EKXThe Maze Runner

Chapter one

We were left behind. They all left us. They left to go to the safe place, and we lost over half of us along the way, yet they left us behind. My name is Levi, and i was from the glade. I wasnt part of the group that led us out and i only had one friend in there, his name is Zac. He made it out alive too. But they left us, and a girl that i dont know from group B. Her name is Cleo. We found out that she is actually Zac's sister. Although all they have alike in looks are their dark blue eyes. I came to the maze the month before Chuck. Zac was right before me. Right now, Zac, Cleo, and I are walking away from the wicked head quarters. We had to find out how to get back to them. They went to a safe haven, while we are still in this crank-infested world where the flare has dominated. It is quite scary. Im only fourteen. Zac is fifteen and Cleo is thirteen. We never got our memorys back, but we found files in WICKED about our past lives, although we couldnt find out much. All of our clothes were tattered and had some specks of blood and mud. We have been walking for miles and we are all tired and dehidrated. Its not as bad as the scorch though. That was terrible. I look to the side of me at both Zac and Cleo. They were both frowning and i could see tear stains on Cleo's cheeks. She had a couple friends from group B, i think she feels bad because they left her. Our throats were too dry to talk, so we just kept walking. Surprisingly, we havnt seen a crank yet. Not a single one. I start getting excited when i see a city up ahead. I start pointing at it while freaking out. The other two see it and we pick up the pace. We actually get there fairly quickly. They test us for the flare and we hurry in, still not saying anything. We look for somewhere that has water. isee a water fountain and run to it. I take a few big gulps of water then yell,"Zac! Cleo! There is a water fountain over here!". They both look over at me and rush forward. Cleo gets there first and takes a few gulps, then Zac. "Oh my gosh! That feels so good!", Cleo exclaims. She steps back and accidentally runs into another girl who looked to be around eleven years old. She had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. "Oh no! Im so so sorry! Are you ok?", Cleo asked the girl who had falled to the ground and then helped her up. "Yeah, Im fine. Um, my name is Nora by the way.",The girl named Nora states. I answer saying,"Hi Nora! Im levi and this is Cleo and Zac. They are brother and sister." and i point to them when i say their names. "Cool! Um, are you three new here? I dont think ive seen you before and ive lived in these gates my whole life.", Nora questions. "Oh, well we actually just came here from outside of the gates. We are immune.", Zac says. "Shh! Keep it down! If people hear you say that, they will harass you and maybe even make you guard the crank palace, seeing as almost all of the other immunes disapeared. Im actually immune too! So i know... One of my friends was taken away to work at the crank palace, she uh, she died. Crank that was way past the gone got a hold of her.", she say quietly, tearing up a little. "Oh no! Thats terrible! i heard Thomas talking to Minho about the crank palace after he went there to look for Newt.", Cleo exclaims. "Ah, so you four are munies, eh? Well ive got just the job for you.", a creepy voice says behind zac and i. The girls were staring behind us, lookin frightened. I turn around to see a large guard that had apparently been eaves dropping on our conversation. The next thing i know, everything is black.

I wake up and see that im in some sort of small building. There are uniforms hung on the wall and some sort of guns next to them. "Well, you are finally awake.". Its the same voice from earlier. "Listen kid, im just gonna make this short and sweet. You and your friends have to patrol the grounds and make sure the cranks dont escape. Dont die. I fyou or one of your friends try to escape, you will be captured and thrown in prison or worse, got it?", the man says.  simply nod, too dumb founded to speak. He just leaves. What is going on? everything is happening so fast. I look behind me to see the others. Im guessing they heard too, by the shocked look on their faces. "W-well, lets scope things out. I guess we should put these uniforms on and grab a gun.", Cleo stutters. We all just nod, too exasperated to say anything. We slip the uniforms on over our clothes and replace our worn out shoes and Noras sandals with brown work boots on. We eached grabbed one of the strange looking gun type of devices. "W-what are we even supposed to do?", Nora says quietly. "I guess we have to stop them from leaving.", i say. We lok out the window to see a giant and very worn out building. There are large walls on all four sides of us, but still giving plenty of room. Im a bit confused because i dont see any cranks at first, but then one jumps at the window. I nearly jumped out of my skin and both Nora and Zac screamed. Then something unexpected happens, the crank just walks away laughing. Huh. We slowly start filing out the door. "Well I guess we should star t exploring a bit while simultaniously trying not to get our faces ripped off by cranks.", Zac states simply. "This is not how i thought our first day out of wickeds grasp would go.", Cleo says quietly. Nora is staying behing her, sort of using her as a sheild from seeing all of the cranks. Most of them just look at us or growl under their breath when we walk by. Then i hear,"Oh look girls! Fresh blood!". I spin around to see....

This is just an authors note. I figured i would explain what the characters that have been introduced so far look like... 

Levi: Super tall, red/brown hair, Dark greyish eyes. 14 /yo

Cleo: Normal hight, dark blonde hair, dark blue eyes, 13 /yo

Zac: Normal hight, light brown hair, dark blue eyes, 15 /yo

Nora: A little short, dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, 11 /y
