Two worlds

For years I lived in two worlds
I lived in a world were I was
The youngest
The shortest
The tan-est
And I lived in a world were I was
The oldest
The tallest
The pale-est
I lived in a world where I was
The wildest
The loudest
The least trusted
And I lived in a world where I was
The the tallest
The quietest
The overly trusted
For years I lived in two worlds
I lived in a world where
Around a holiday
With the rising of patriotism
And with the setting of the sun
It wasn't rare to hear the sound of a gun
And I lived in a world where
We played with worn out toys
Not fit for our ages
We spent all day on the asphalt
We spent all day in the sun
And it wasn't odd to hear the sound of a gun
For years I lived in two worlds
I lived in a world where
I was sheltered
And "protected"
From almost everything
And I lived in a world where
I was outcast
And isolated
From nearly everyone
