Saved by the Gangleader!

Chapter 4

*Skylar's POV*
   I woke up really sore from the beating I got yesterday but I've been threw worse. I checked my phone and and saw it was 8:13 and I had to get up to go to work. I work at a small diner that's a few minutes from where I live. I had to start working after my mother died 3 years ago the day she died was the day my father started drinking. At first he would just ignore Mia and me but after a month he started yelling at us and then the abuse started. I probably would of given up hope of one day leaving if it wasn't for Mia, Alex, and Amy they have been there for me since day one and idk what I would of done without then.
I was about to get off Mia's 'bed' which is an old mattress and some warm blankets that I gave to her because I didn't want her to sleep on the ground. I do have a mattress but it's not as good as the one I gave Mia. I turned and noticed that she was still sleeping so I let her sleep while I got ready, after getting ready I checked the time and it was 8:34 so I woke up Mia and helped her bathe and change. After we were both ready I checked to see if dad was home but his car wasn't in the drive way so he probably left for a work trip or something. When ever he leaves for a work trip he takes our stepmother with him and leaves us here. He has a stable job but I have to work because according it him we're not worth his money. So with what I get paid -which is not much- I buy mines and Mia's stuff for school along with clothes and other things we need.
    Once I got to work I told Mia to go sit in one of the other booths in the back because nobody usually sits there.
     Threw out the day I just gave Mia some meals and my shift ended at 9:00 and it's 8:43 so I only have a few more minutes of work.  I was starting to clean up the booths when the door opened up but didn't turn around I just kept cleaning until Maggie the owner asked me if i could go take there orders and I said of course. She's like a second mom to me and Mia she's not that old she like 34 years old. She always helps me clean any wounds that I can't reach and once in a while helps take care of Mia.
      "Welcome to Maggie's dinner my name is Skylar, what can I-" I stopped when I realized why Maggie asked me to come take there orders. It was because it was Grayson and two other guy, they probably were the ones in the alley the other night.
   "Hello princess" said Grayson after realizing I was surprised to see him here.
   " Hi sorry what can I get you guys?" I asked them. They all ordered the same thing which was burger and fries and some soda.
" I'll be right back with your food and drinks" I said and then took their orders over to Maggie so she could prepare them while I took them there drinks.
"Here you go" I was about to walk away from them but Grayson caught my wrist and made me face them again.
"How did you get that bruise and don't say it was already there because it wasn't" I gulped and tried to get out of his hold but he just tightened it so I could walk away.
"I-I was ... I a-accidentally hit myself" I hate stuttering but I can't help it it happens when I'm scared. He let go of my grip and was about to walk away but Mia came out of nowhere and started asking when we would go home.
"Well leave in a few more minutes I promise" I told her and she responded with "okay" and went to sit back down. When I went back over to Maggie she had their orders ready and told me I could go home after taking their food.
Once I got there I noticed that Mia was there and was playing with the guy that had brown hair and hazel eyes who's name I think was Max and the other guy with black hair and blue eyes was Emmet. I gave them their food and then told Mia we were leaving and we were about to leave but Grayson called us back and offered to give us a ride but I told him it was okay that we only live a few minutes way and that we would walk but he told us no and here I am waiting for them to finish eating with a sleeping Mia in arms. Once they finished my arms were starting to hurt even thought Mia isn't that heavy but I'm every weak especially since I don't eat much.
"Hand her over I'll carry her to the car you look tired" I was to tired to say any thing so I just nodded and hand her over to Grayson. Once we got to the car Max and Emmet were fighting over shotgun but Grayson made them both sit in the back and me sit in the passenger seat with Mia in my arms.
After getting to the house I said thanks and they waited for us to go inside. I was relieved when i saw that my fathers car wasn't in the drive way which meant him and their stepmother were gone on a business trip for the week. After I got inside Mia and i went into the living room and watched tv for a while before finally heading upstairs and going to sleep.

*Grayson's POV*
  I woke up in the morning thinking about Skylar I wonder if someone really jumped her. Before she got out on my car I noticed her hesitation to get out of the car and I didn't think it was normal. Maybe I'm just being paranoid or something. I wonder if I'll see her again, I probably will since the town isn't big.
      UGHHH what I'm i thinking I can't love anybody love makes people weak and if I'm weak I could lose my gang. I can't let her get hurt either.
  RING RING RIN-
(G - Grayson, E- Emmet)
G- What do you need Emmet???
E- Me and Max are going to go eat and this diner later and we were wondering if you wanted to tag along
G- Yeah sure I have a meeting later so I'll meet you there later
E- Alright just text us later when your done
G- Okay I'll see you'll later bye
E- Okay bye
After getting ready I finally left to where we were going to meet. After a long 45 minute drive I finally made it and went inside.
* After the meeting *
The meeting took longer than what I thought I'm glad I told Emmet I would meet them at the diner because I could use a brake before having to finish all the work at home.
When I got to the diner I met Max and Emmet outside before going inside and told them about the meetings and how I think that this smaller gang is planning to attack us. When we finally went inside we sat in one of the booths in the back I wasn't paying attention but then I heard the soft voice that I love to hear, it was Skylar.
   "Welcome to Maggie's dinner my name is Skylar, what can I-" she started but stopped when she looked up and realized it was us.
    "Hello Princess" I answered after she just stood there looking at me. She must of been surprised to see us here, but I must admit she looked cute standing there. I never really say things like that but that's because I try and keep my reputation of a dangerous gang leader going. I've been told that I'm not that bad once you get to know me but I'm also not really close to a lot of people. The only persons I'm close to are my parents, older brother, younger sister, Emmet, Max, and My other friend mason. I haven't seen mason for a couple of months after he went to visit his grand parents.
   "Hi sorry what can I get you guys?" She asked us and we all ordered the same thing and she left to take the order while we just talked.
   "Here you go" she said placing our drinks on the table. But I couldn't help notice a new bruise on her right cheek and I couldn't help but get mad because nobody is allowed to hit my princess. So before she could walk away I grabbed her wrist and made her turn around.
    "How did you get that bruise and don't say it was already there because it wasn't" once I asked her I noticed she started to get nervous. When she tried to walk away I tightened my grip on her wrist but being careful because I didn't want to hurt her.
    "I-I was ... I a-accidentally hit myself" I could tell she was lying but I didn't want to push it because I wanted her to tell me when she trusted me and when she was ready.
      She was about to walk away but a little girl came out of nowhere and asked her when they would go home. She promised the little girl that they would go home in a few minutes and the go sit down. The little girl listened but then came back to the table and sat down with us. I'm not going to lie she was adorable and just like the guys I had a soft spot for little kids and i guess it was because I had I little sister that I was very over protective of.
     "Helwo Mr's what's yowr names " she said and it was cute because she couldn't pronounce some words right.
     " Hello" I said with a chuckle " My names Grayson this is Emmet and Max what's your name?"
    "My names Mia I like your names I'm going to call you gray" she said and i told her thanks and okay and that we liked her name too. Then she started playing patty cake with Max. Then Skylar came back with our food and told Mia that they we leaving. But I called them back and told them that we would give them a ride home and then Skylar said that they could walk because they only lived I few minutes away. I wasn't going to let them walk home alone at night it's dangerous and something could happen and I wasn't going to take no for an answer.
     So she was sitting with us and waiting for us to finish eating. Once we finished we paid and I saw that Mia was tired so I told her I would carry Mia to the car.
     The car ride was quite but once we got to her house I helped her out and waited until she went inside. There's something about her that just made her special and different from every other girl. And with that thought on my mind I went to sleep when I got home.
