Two hearts collided
Their attention undivided
They say that if you love something set it free
But is this really love inside of me?
As time went on,
Feelings got stronger
And I thought to myself,
We can't hold it in any longer.
You wanted me
And I wanted you
You wanted an us
But I wanted a me
Feelings so close to love,
I had to set you free.
Yet you came back,
So it must have been real.
But trusting someone is where I always fail
Fear of heartbreak, fear of love
Fear of abandonment, fear of it all
When will I ever let it go?
Too much of a burden,
those labels and titles.
"I'd prefer to be friends" is what I always say
Afraid to let love in and whisk me away
To a place of no worries, fears or regrets
So I guess the poem is over, I haven't found that place yet.
