Lena-

When Stef first told me that she was attracted to me, but didn't know whether she was gay or not, it got me to thinking. Lord knows I'm attracted to her and the thought of being with her goes through my mind every minute of every day. Sitting at my kitchen table drinking my coffee getting ready for a new week, an wondering if I should give Stef a call, I haven't seen her or talked to her since yesterday morning. The thought just frightens me beyond belief of getting in to deep and then her coming to the conclusion this is not what she wants. I have been hurt to many times to put my heart on the line, but she is not like any other woman I have ever met. Maybe I can call her and invite her to lunch, nothing serious or romantic about lunch right? Putting my blazer on and getting my brief case, checking for keys, cell phone and my to go cup of coffee, racing out the door so I wouldn't be late for work. Listening to the news on my way to work, I hear a news report of a police officer being shot and killed, another thing I have to worry about she is a police officer and she puts her life on the line every day, did I want to risk getting involved with someone who could be shot and taking from me at anytime. Lena you're being paranoid, statistics say that police officers is not even in the top ten of  most dangerous jobs out there, for god sake I work at a school, I'm more likely to get shot than Stef.  Pressing the button on my hands free device I give her a call, on the third ring, she picks up.  San Diego Precinct Officer Foster speaking, how may I help, she said. Hello Stef, this is Lena sorry to bother you at work, I said. No worries Lena how are you, she said. I was wondering if you weren't busy if you would like to have lunch with me around twelve? I asked. Sure Lena that would be nice, where would you like to have lunch? she asked. There's a deli around the corner from Anchor Beach called Brisket, do you know it, I asked. Yes I know it, been there a couple of times, she said. Okay good, I will meet you there at twelve, I said. Alright see you there, she said.

Stef-

Foster couldn't help overhearing your conversation, got a lunch date hey, Troy asked. Just lunch what's it to you? I asked. Just asking no need to get offensive, he said. Don't you have something better to do, than to be all up in my business, take a hike, I said. As he walked away. Wondering what Lena wants to talk about when we have lunch, she didn't say much yesterday morning when she left my place. I have never been so attracted to anyone as much as I am attracted to Lena, so I am hoping she will give this a chance. Hey Stef, Mike said. Hey Mike, how are you, I asked. Good, was wondering if you're not busy, whether I could take you out to dinner tonight, He asked. I don't think that's a good idea, we work together, I said. Well haven't you ever heard the term a family that works together stays together, he said. You got that wrong Mike, it's a family that prays together, not work, I said. Well you know what I mean, he said. I know, but no thank you Mike sorry, I said. Are you seeing someone, he asked. Doesn't matter, my private life is my business Mike, I said. Sorry, he says as he walks away.
