Solomon pulled into the drive of their game shop home and Yugi got out quickly. Thoughts of his first day ran through his head like a relentless nightmare. He thought back to the possible group of friends that he torched almost instantly when he punched Joey, to the enormous bully named Bruce, and to all the teachers who welcomed him but didn't pay him any special attention. But there was only one person Yugi couldn't get out of his head. No matter how hard he tried to forget about him that tall, slender, incredibly handsome, most popular guy in school; the one person Yugi would've naturally avoided; would creep back in. Yami had gotten under his skin.

Finally, upstairs, Yugi threw his backpack on the ground and went over to his desk, turning on his laptop to see if he got any messages. As he waited for the machine to load, he looked over to a picture of his family. In fact, it was the only picture they had taken together as a family, and it was the only one he could find of them after the fire destroyed everything.

Yugi shuddered at the memory. He looked at the faces of his father, his mother...and then finally, his brother. All of whom had been lost in the blaze. Yugi remembered that night as clear as if it had happened yesterday. The heat that burned against his skin and the pitch black smoke that threatened to cloud his lungs. But most of all, the screams of his family as the fire destroyed them. Either by a higher power or sheer luck, Yugi somehow survived. But, he was the only one. Lawyers and legal counsel fought over the next few months as Yugi recovered in the hospital about who had custody over the boy. It was then that Solomon stepped forward and claimed responsibility for him, for he refused that Yugi would be raised by anyone else but family.

Tears welled up in his eyes as he stared at his brother's face. He could barely remember anything about him, not even his name. And when he saw Yami today, it only brought the pain back. He knew that there was no way Yami could be his brother because for one, Yami was fair skinned like Yugi, whilst his brother had a darker complexion like their mother and two being that Yami was much older than Yugi, while him and his brother were the same age, after all they were twins. How Yugi wished to have that back.

Wiping away the tears, Yugi heard his grandpa call up to him that dinner was ready. Placing the picture back on the table, he ran downstairs for dinner. Once he had finished eating, he put his plate in the skin, hugged his grandpa goodnight and ran upstairs. Finally, the computer had loaded and Yugi checked his e-mail, worked on his homework, and surfed the net before turning in for the night.

~Meanwhile~

The forest was dark; the only light came from the full moon that was now at high-noon in the sky. It was quiet, peaceful. Suddenly, the silence was broken as a dark mass ripped through the tree's, showing little resistance to nature's obstacles. It ran past parked cars and quiet homes whose residents had turned in for the night.

Finally, it came to stop in front of the game shop where Yugi and his grandfather lived. The figure, humanoid in stature, began to walk around the building, looking for a possible climbing vantage point. Finding some vines on the far left side of the building, it began to climb. Freezing periodically as an unknowing cop car passed by. As it came to rest on the rooftop, it saw a large window overlooking one of the bedrooms. Slowly it crawled over to the window and peered in, seeing Yugi fast asleep on his bed. Quietly it removed a window and slipped inside attempting not to wake Yugi from his peaceful slumber. Slowly the figure moved close to the bed, grabbing the chair from the desk, spinning it like a top, then sitting on it backwards.

Folding it's arms it rested its head on them, gazing at Yugi's peaceful face. Then it saw that Yugi's soft cheeks were stained with tears. Moving off the chair fluidly, the figure rested on its knee's as it lightly wiped a tear away. "Why do you cry?" It asked sadly.
