It was the first Monday after New Years and unlike every other year, this year, you were going to stick with your New Year's resolution to become healthier - not only physically but mentally. This meant going to the gym, eating healthy, and being happy as a single young adult.
You got up and turned off your alarm clock. You weren't a big fan of doing anything in the morning, but people say that it's better to exercise early in the day. You walked into the small bathroom of your apartment in New York to brush your teeth. You had visited New York on vacation about six months ago, fell in love with "The City that Never Sleeps", and decided to stay.
After brushing your teeth you combed your hair back into a ponytail, threw on your workout clothes, and grabbed your bag. With one last look in the mirror, you headed out the door to the gym around the block. This was your first time going to the gym. You were slightly nervous because you hadn't really worked out since your freshman year of high school. You didn't really need to lose weight, but you thought that you were kind of scrawny and had decided that you needed to build more muscle.
Once at the gym, you put your bag in a locker and headed towards the workout machines. You walked straight to the bench press so you could start working on your upper arm strength. It already had some weights on it so you just laid down on the bench and began to lift the bar. It was pretty heavy, but you thought you could handle it. As you started lowering the bar to your chest, you realized it might have been too heavy. You began to struggle. You frantically tried to lift the bar that was increasingly applying pressure to your chest and making it hard to breathe. Just before you started to call out for help, a tall, strong figure appeared above you and lifted the bar.
"Maybe you should try a lighter weight next time." the figure said.
"I was doing just fine" you said angrily while you stood up.
As you turned around, your face met a chest of rock hard abs. Looking up, you realized you were talking to the one and only Hugh Jackman. Your face turned pale and you began to blush. You're speechless!
"It didn't look that way from where I was standing," he said with a devilish smirk that just about made your legs melt beneath you.
"Maybe next time start with a light jog," he said while pointing towards the treadmills.
Still speechless, you could only nod.
"Well, I have to go now, but it was nice meeting you...?" he inquired as he held his hand out.
"(Y/n)," you barely muster as you weakly met his strong handshake.
"Ah, what a pretty name," he commented.
You blushed.
He must have noticed your lack of strength because as he walked out the door he jokingly added, "Oh, and keep working on your arm strength. You need it."
As he walked away, he left you in a daze. You had just met the Hugh Jackman... and in return had just embarrassed yourself in front of the Hugh Jackman. He was so handsome. Everything from his smile to his abs was..
"NO SNAP OUT OF IT! You cannot fall for some actor who's probably a huge playboy. Even if he is totally hot... Moving on! He made fun of you and is totally egotistical!" you thought as you tried to convince yourself to not fall for him. You decided to call it a day as you grabbed your bag and headed home.
That night while you were eating dinner and watching TV, you couldn't help but remember the events of that morning. No matter how much you tried, you couldn't get his devilish smirk and his beautiful face out of your head. You decided to go to sleep in hopes of forgetting about all of it. Even though you wished you hadn't, that night was the first night you dreamed of Hugh.
