Luke’s POV

“Oh my god. Tell me when it’s over,” Erica said, moving closer to me and burying her head in my chest. I wrapped my arm around her to try to make her feel safe. I saw her peaking at the screen through her fingers when a zombie-face popped up on the screen causing her to scream.

“No, no I can’t do this I’m sorry,” she said as she stood up and walked towards the bedrooms. I watched her walk out the room, immediately feeling bad. I already felt the absence of her body next to mine.

“She hates horror movies, if you couldn’t tell,” Kori told the rest of the boys, noticing that she was curled up next to Ashton.

“I’ll be right back,” I told everyone and stood up to check on her, still worried. Oh, god I hope she isn’t mad at me or anything. I can fuck this up already, I just met her yesterday! I walked down the hall leading to all of our rooms and bathrooms. I noticed that the bathroom door was still opened, so I checked inside and saw she wasn’t there.

“Erica?” I called out down the hallway, still unable to find her. I decided to check my room, and saw her sitting on the edge of my bed and playing with her hands. She looked up to me with her big brown eyes when I walked through.

“God, I’m sorry I should’ve just stayed in and watched. I’m such a big baby,” She said while putting her head in her hands. I walked over to her and sat next to her, hoping to comfort her as much as I could. I took her soft hands in mine and looked her in the eyes.

“No, don’t apologize. We should’ve picked something out that everyone likes,” I told her and looked down at the ground, feeling shameful.

“I guess I’ll just have to try to overcome it,” she shrugged. We sat in a comfortable silence in my room until she spoke up.

“You know what I really hate? Green olives,” She told me. I looked up at her in surprise.

“You have an interesting train of thought,” I laughed. “I don’t think they’re terrible. But you know what I love?” I asked.

“What?”

“Penguins.”

“Penguins? You’re kidding, right?” She giggled.

“Nope. I love penguins. I don’t know why, I just have ever since I was little,” I told her with a goofy smile, feeling my lip ring against my teeth. We sat and talked and laughed about random things that we liked and didn’t like for what felt like hours. I really had fun talking to her. I never really had the beginning to what could be a “serious” relationship before, considering I was only seventeen, but I’m guessing this is what it feels like, and I couldn’t be happier.

We ended up laying on the bed with her resting her head on my chest and me playing with her hair. I felt like I could lay like this forever, just us two alone.

“Can I tell you something?” She asked me.

“Sure,” I responded, a little nervous for what she was going to tell me. Oh, god she’s going to tell me she doesn’t like me. I knew it. I can’t let her leave already, I just met her. Why does this always happen?

“I feel really comfortable around you. And not just in a friend way, but more than that. I feel like I can be myself around you and that you won’t judge me. I haven’t ever felt like this with anyone,” She confessed, sitting up to look at me.

“I feel the exact same way. It’s really cool to know that someone doesn’t like you just because you’re ‘famous’, but they actually see you for who you are,” I told her with a smile. I sat up to look at her and took in all of her features from tonight, from her minimal makeup to her soft, pink lips. I look at her in adoration, happy about the thought that we finally met.

“I really like you, Luke,” She told me, leaning in closer to me and putting her hand on top of mine.

“I really like you too,” I said, biting my lip ring. God, she was beautiful. I looked into her eyes and felt like I’d fallen into a deep into a trance. I noticed how her eyes sparked with excitement constantly and how they brightened when she laughed.

“Hey are you guys- oh, did I interrupted something?” Calum said, smirking at me. Erica just blushed and looked away.

“Yeah, you kind of did,” I said giving him a glare.

“Well, I’ll leave you two alone now. The movie’s over, and we’re going to watch ‘Pitch Perfect’ if either of you love birds want to watch”, Calum said as he shut the door behind him.

“That killed the mood didn’t it?” Erica said with a laugh. She stood up and straightened out her shirt. “Should we head out there?”

“Um, yeah I guess so,” I said, following behind her as she walked out. I grabbed her hand and turned her towards me. “That was really fun, just talking to you and all,” I told her, scratching the back of my neck. She shocked me by wrapping me in a bear hug.

“I really do like talking to you. You’re pretty cool,” She laughed, looking up at me. I started to blush as she looked me in the eye.

“Only pretty cool?” I pouted. She started to laugh again. Man, I loved her laugh.

“You know what I mean,” She giggled, pecking me on the cheek and walking into the living room where everyone else was. I stood there, still unmoving, and bit my lip to try to stop the beaming smile to begin on my face. She was something else, I’ll tell you that. I walked into the living room to see everyone sitting and watching the movie, Ashton and Kori cuddling on a separate couch.

“You alright, mate?” Michael asked me as the rest of the boys turned to look at me.

“You look like a tomato,” Ashton laughed, making my blush worse. I looked at Erica to see her giggling again. She was adorable, to say in the least.

“What did you do to him?” Calum laughed, asking Erica.

“Hey don’t blame this on me,” Erica said, laughing in response. I just sat down on the couch and pouted.

“Aw, Lukey, I’m sorry,” Erica said, sitting down next to me and giving me her puppy dog eyes. I just laughed and wrapped her in a bear hug. She was surprised and ended up falling off the couch, me landing on top of her.

“Oof!” She laughed from underneath me. I looked at her in adoration. I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was, and how we were getting closer. She looked up at me with her big brown eyes and leaned in.

“GET A ROOM!” Calum yelled, shoving his face in the pillow. Erica and I looked over and laughed.

“You know, I really like the position,” I whispered in her ear, causing her to blush. I stood up and held out my hand to help her up, which she gratefully took.

“I’m starving, can we eat?” Kori asked, hearing her stomach rumble. Ashton laughed beside her. I haven’t seen him like this is a really long time.

“Usually it’s me who’s complaining about being hungry,” Erica laughed.

“Shut up, we’re BOTH always hungry, stupid,” Kori teased Erica, causing her to fake pout.

“Let’s get pizza. I’m not calling it in though,” Ashton said.

“Yes you are, you’re the one who thought of it!” Calum yelled.

“We don’t have to get pizza at all,” Ashton said.

“All voting for Ashton calling in the order, say ‘I’,” Michael said.

“I,” everyone voted, looking at Ashton to see him rolling his eyes.

This should be an interesting night.
