Chapter 2: Meet the Team

"This is dumb." 

"Naruto-san, please be quiet, I'm trying to listen to Iruka's speech." A woman with black hair and red eyes said to the blonde, who was too busy banging his head against the wall. 

"But it's the same thing each time a new batch of genin "graduates", it's really nothing special." Naruto replied before he stopped banging his head against the wall. "Who did you get again?" He asked the newly promoted Jonin. 

"I got Hinata Hyuga, Shino Aburame, and Sai Shimura." Naruto hummed to himself. 

"So, you got a stalker with zero confidence, a guy who has bugs living in him, and an emotionless grandson of Danzo-sama. Interesting." Kurenai glared at him for a second. 

"Well you're just pointing out their flaws, I'm sure they have good qualities." She said, looking away from him for a second before she deadpanned. "And what do you mean by stalker?" Naruto smirked and looked at the older woman in the eye, his head looking up more than he liked. 

"Well, when I was but a youngster-"

"You still are." A man with tan skin said, taking a puff with his cigarettes. Naruto growled at him. 

"You're just mad because I only call Kakashi-senpai senpai Asuma-baka." The man named Asuma looked taken aback before he glared at Naruto. 

"I just don't understand why you do it? I mean, I'm stronger than Kakashi and-" Naruto began laughing, making the man stop in mid sentence. "What?" 

"You, stronger than Kakashi-senpai?" He began laughing again. "Idiot, I could beat you in a one on one, and Kakashi-senpai is stronger than me!" 

"Don't get cocky brat." Asuma growled as he took out a trench knife, only to feel a cold blade on the back of his neck, making him freeze. "Shadow Clone?"

"I'm not cocky, I'm confident. A big difference." Naruto said with a straight face before he and Asuma started cracking up, making Kurenai adopt a confused expression. 

"Am I missing something." Naruto hopped on Asuma's shoulders, making Asuma frown, but not force him off since the kunai was still on his neck. Naruto took his other hand and patted Kurenai's head twice before flipping off of Asuma's shoulders. 

"Nope." He said, putting away the kunai and dispelled the shadow clone. 

"Uh, why'd you pat my head?" Naruto looked up at her thoughtfully. 

"Because I was tall enough to do it, and you should call me Naruto-senpai, since I'm more experienced than you are." Kurenai was at a loss for words before Asuma butted in. 

"Just do it, he'll bother you about it until the day you die if you don't." Kurenai's eyes widened before she looked back at Naruto, who was smiling with his eyes closed. 

"O-okay, Naruto-senpai." Naruto's eyes sparkled. 

"Hear that Asuma-baka?! I'm someone's senpai, and you're nobody's senpai, hahaha!" Asuma turned red in embarrassment before he perked up. 

"Look, the teams are being announced." He pointed through the glass and watched as Iruka listed people's names. The chatter around them stopped and Naruto looked through the one way window, his eyes hardened. 

"Team 7 will be Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Kiba Inuzuka, you're sensei will be..." Iruka paused for a second, his eyes widening. "Um, Naruto Uzumaki." 

"I'm going to end up killing the Hokage." Naruto said plainly. "He gave me an emo kid hell bent on revenge who thinks the world belongs to him, a fangirl to the said emo, and an arrogant brat who thinks the world belongs to him. Great."
