"Oh Goddess, today was a rough one. Not being able to freely do what it was you were born to do is impossible. An elderly couple had almost caught me levitating the broom. I can't help it if I was tired of sweeping. Kali and I should've been able to stay in Austin and let Susan come to California, but she needs us. You, of all people know I love her so much. She is more of a mother to me than my real mom ever was. Kali seems to be having a rougher time. I still think what happened in Austin won't follow us. We put enough concealing and protection spells around us to keep us safe for the time being. Liam and Airika will warn us if Trey gets a hold of where we have fled to.
Blessed Be,
Iníon an Gealach"
I had just finished the inventory of the store when my best friend Kali walked in. She looked absolutely gorgeous today in her white shorts showing off her long legs and brown flowy top and tan flats. Her long straight blonde hair shined brighter than the sun. She was one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen. Kali was tall about five foot nine but that height was no comparison to the size of her caring heart and kick ass attitude.
"Hey Fae, how's it going?" She said as she handed me one of the dark roasted coffees she held. "Mom told me to bring you some and help out with whatever else needed finishing up here."
You see, Susan, Kali's mom, owns the clothing shop I was inventorying. It was called Tequila & Salt Clothing. Tequila and salt is a bit of an insider between the three of us, but I'll let you in on that a little later. We help her out with anything she needs while she works her other job doing public relations for Kozma Towers, a marketing firm for retail shops like this one. This week she's having us set up clothes, inventorying, and hiring the employees.
"Oh my Goddess thanks so much Kali. You're a life saver. You always know when I need my caffeine." I said as I took the top off and rotated my hand counterclockwise while saying 'cool the fire' in my mind. It was a simple spell that cooled hot liquid down to the right enjoying temperature.
As you may have already figured out, I am a witch, a Wiccan if you will. So are Kali and Susan, but Susan wants nothing to do with the craft any longer. Austin, TX really screwed her up. So instead of leading the coven we loved and cherished she was running the boutique and working long strenuous hours at the firm. She made Kali and me leave behind not only our coven family, but two people who meant the world and beyond to us. Liam and Airika (pronounced Erica). They were our best friends since diapers. I missed Airika's deep green eyes and artsy style. She always showed me the next new thing in music. We would drive around town with a bottle of vodka and some juice singing at the top of our lungs. Goddess, I missed that.
As for Liam, we left things at an odd point. He and I would always joke around and play rough. Punching, kicking, wrestling, etc. but that last night as I was packing up the last of my things he came in and tackled me on to my bed. We wrestled until we were completely under the covers. He was holding himself above me with one hand as he let the other stroke my face. And then kissed me, and of course I kissed him back. I had always had a small thing for Liam with his long dirty blonde choppy styled hair that was always covered with a straight billed cap. I'm not sure if it was always the hair though. Liam had a sleeve of tattoos on his right arm and that always caught my attention as I would try and find a new picture.
I had learned a new movement spell for the next time I saw him that would bring his tattoos to life on his skin. I doubted that we would ever see Airika or Liam ever again.
"Do you think we'll ever see Airi or Liam?" I asked Kali
"Doubt it. Mom hid our path very well. She did concealing spells on top of protection spells on top of look-away spells. But I do hope we do see them soon. I miss them so much. It's weird having to start school in a week without them."
