It was early morning, Adam was sitting in his first period class; it took them little time to get down his new schedule, but hisfriend James was nowhere around. They were used to him getting to class before them, but today it seemed he had gotten lost with his new schedule. Without James' company, Adam had opened up his notebook and began to doodle. Minutes passed before something tickled the back of Adam's ear. Before he could react, a deafening boom erupted in Adam's ear.
"Whatcha doin'?" Adam jumped out of his seat and turned over paper, his cheeks flushed. "N- nothing, when did did you get here?" He questioned his friend, James who has chuckling behind his hand. "A few seconds ago, I'm surprised this class is so empty," he said, looking around. "Guess everyone's lost. Now, what the hell were you drawing?" He insisted. "Uhh... Don't judge me, okay?" said Adam as his turned over the paper he had been drawing on. "No promise- is that a fucking pony?" Instantly, Adam turned the paper back over and sighed. "Hey, I'm not judging you," explained James. "I'm just wondering why,"
"I just think horses are neat creatures," Adam explained. "They're kinda just... Majestic, you know?" James pondered the thought, but shook his head. "I get what you're saying, but why is it pink? Isn't that kinda gay?" Adam snorted. "There's nothing gay about pink. It was a sign of male royalty back in medieval times," James flipped the paper back over and examined Adam's drawing more closely.
"But this horse - or pony, whatever - doesn't look royal. Looks fuckin' gay, man," Adam yanked the paper from his hands and scoffed. "Oh piss off, mate. You're gay," James merely chuckled and sat down in the desk next to him. "You know I'm just teasing you, man. I wouldn't care if you were gay anyway, it's 2018. It's kind of cool to be gay now...Kinda weird, right?" Adam smiled a bit at the thought. "Yeah, you're right, but that's a good thing I suppose," said Adam as the bell rang; they had been so lost in conversation they hadn't notice the room fill with other students.
The rest of Adam's day went as normal; he caught up with his only other friend, Charlie, and got adjusted to his new schedule very easily. A very relaxing day for him, something he needed.
