The ride to the courthouse was an absolute nightmare. Regina was dressed in all black. A statement to the Evil Queen she had once been. She was trying to channel her confidence but it seemed as though nothing was coming up other than her lunch.

She held onto robin and took deep breaths to calm her steady beating heart. "What if they let him go?" She whispered and he shook his head "they won't Regina." Robin said softly rubbing her back.

"You don't know that."

"You're right I don't, but I really don't think they'll let him go, especially after everything he's done."

"I dunno. Everyone loved him." She whispered swallowing hard. They sat down and brought in Leopold. He stared directly at Regina the whole time. She felt as though she could hardly breathe. The defense called their first witness.

Archie Hopper.

Her heart froze. Her stomach dropped. Could they do that? She was digging into Robin's arm, her mouth dry as she watched the cricket take the stand.

"Mr. Hopper, you examined King Leopold, yes?" The defense attorney started.

A nod.

"Mr. Hopper you'll have to speak up yes or no answers." The judge told him softly and he nodded.

"Yes I did examine Mr. Blanchard."

"And what can you tell us about him."

"He's extremely manipulative. He has no patience, no impulse control, and he lacks empathy."

"And what does that tell you Dr.?"

"He's a psychopath."

The lawyer nodded and paced the floor lightly. "If what you're saying is true, can you tell us if the defendant can tell right from wrong?" He asked

"Yes. I believe he knows the difference between right and wrong, but he believes the rules do not apply to him."

"Do you think the defendant knew what he was doing was wrong when he tortured his wife?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because he believed that Regina was his property. He thought he had a right to treat her as such. He didn't think it was wrong."

"No further questions your honor."

The defense attorney sat down and Novak stood up. "Permission to redirect your honor?" She asked and the judge nodded "I'll allow it."

Casey made slow strides to the floor.

"Dr. Hopper, you stated earlier that the defendant knew the difference between right and wrong, correct?"

"Yes."

"He knew it was wrong to torture another person, correct?"

"Yes."

"If the defendant knew the difference between right and wrong and still did it does that mean he is insane?"

"No."

"Lastly, do you believe that if given the chance, Leopold would hurt Regina again."

"Absolutely."

"No further questions."

Casey sat down and the defense called their next witness.

Sydney Glass.

The lawyer stood up "Mr. Glass, is it true you were originally the one who killed Leopold in the first place."

"Yes."

"Why did you do it?"

"Because I was in love with Regina. She said we could be together if I put the snakes in his bed."

"When he died, did you two ever get together?"

"No." Sydney said softly twiddling with his thumbs.

"Were you ever arrested for your crimes?"

"No. Regina believed that was payment for what id done for her."

"And then what did she do?"

"She trapped me in a mirror."

"Mr. Glass would you say Regina Mills is a liar?" The defense asked

Casey cut in "objection, relevance?"

"Questions the victims character." The defense stated and the judge nodded "I'll allow it. But watch it you're on thin ice councilor."

He nodded. "Mr. Glass?"

"In some cases yes."

"No further questions your honor."

Casey stood up "Sydney, are you still in Love with Regina Mills?"

"Yes..."

"Do you think she would lie about something like this?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because I saw the room."

And that's a wrap for now.
