Katyusha woke up with a severe headache, she curled up with her hands clenching on her head while she sat on the side of the bed, Mathew saw this and went to Katyusha, He placed his large hand on her head and started to stroke her head. As Katyusha recovered from her headache, she stared at Mathew. Mathew stared at her troubled look and asked "something wrong?" Katyusha just looked down as if she was sad about something, Mathew removed his hand from her head and said "it's okay, don't be sad, we're here for you." As Katyusha looked up, she saw Mathew smiled at her, she nodded and smiled as Mathew pecked her forehead.
After a few minutes, Mathew left to his work at the bakery, he worked hard from the shaping the dough to placing the product into the furnace, after he finished those task, he would placed the freshly baked bread into display as the shop would be filled with people, it would often be sold out within noon, as for Samantha, she would just roam around the city square and fool around, from gambling to drinking, most of the time she would head to the tavern for a booze and once she's drunk, she would go home.
Mathew was staring outside his shop as a child was caught stealing from a man, the child was held from its wrist and was thoroughly beaten by the man, he may look like a noble from his attire or from a middle class but this scene made Mathew run outside his shop to stop the man from beating the child, Mathew held the man's wrist and said "isn't that enough?" But the man looked back and shouted "A thief should be thoroughly punished!" But Mathew glared at him "You shouldn't bring justice into your own hands." The man seemed to lost his interest and left the place when Mathew returned his pouch, Mathew then went towards the child "Why did you do that?" He asked as he knelt down and lifting the child up "we are poor and my brothers and sisters were starving." Mathew released a sigh as he entered his shop "you know child, you can work for me in this shop, I would like to have someone into helping me in here." Mathew smiled as he placed the child into a chair and washed his wounds. "The child stared at Mathew with a smile "Really mister? Thank you so much!" He joyfully said as he stood up, Mathew gave the child four pieces of bread and the child thanked him as he ran to his home. Mathew smiles as he saw the child's smile but a man who witnessed it said "you shouldn't be kind to them-" But before he could finish talking, Mathew said "it isn't their fault that they are poor, they may be poor but that shouldn't be a reason to shut the doors against them." The man kept silent after hearing it and left the shop. Mathew then returned into the kitchen and made more bread.
Meanwhile in the tavern, Samantha was gambling as usual, it is usually filled with masculine men, some were soldiers and some were mercenaries, but that atmosphere didn't stop Samantha from entering the tavern, she asked the usual booze while she sat on the counter, sometimes that place would be chaotic once a person is too drunk, especially on the mercenaries which was the usual cause of a brawl, Samantha stared at them as she started to drink the booze that was given to her, it may look like a man was staring at her the whole time, she glared at him and asked "What do you want??" But the man chuckled and mockingly said "this isn't a place for a dwindling princess go out and drink tea or something." Everyone went silent as the bartender said to the man "are you new here?" The man replied "And what if I am??" The bartender then hid under the counter as Samantha smashed a bottle into the man's head "You shouldn't tell me what to do!" The people in the tavern laughed as the man stood up and glared at Samantha "I wouldn't want to break you but you live me no choice." He started to throw pinches but Samantha dodged every single one of them as she took a stool and slammed it into his face making him tumble "Your ego is stronger than you!" Samantha shouted as the man recovers from the damage, the whole people in the tavern surrounded them as they chanted "Fight!" Multiple times. The man tried everything but it seemed Samantha was able to dodge every single one of it and as Samantha lands a hit, everyone would start to cheer, the fight continued for couple of minutes, the man ended up unconscious as Samantha spits on him and said as he placed her boot on his face "I am not your so called princess!" And left the tavern.
As the night passes, Mathew closes his shop and went home, he saw Samantha on the way as usual, drunk and covered with dirt, "You reek with alcohol." Mathew said as he started to carry Samantha "Put me down!! I have my own feet!!" Samantha shouted as she kept hitting his back "Nope, I'm carrying you home whether you like it or not." Mathew replied with a sigh as he started to go home carrying Samantha "You know, sometimes I want to bring the time *hic* that we were still young..your not bad after-all..." Samantha said as she closed her eyes "yeah, yeah so do I." Mathew replied with a smile as he opened the door and placed Samantha on the bed, "Goodnight..Samantha." he pecks her head as he went to Katyusha to check on her, but before he went to her, he prepared a stew and after it was cooked, he gave it to Katyusha and went to his bed and slept.
