I wasn't excited. No, that wasn't the right word. Was happy, no, joyous better word for it?

Crawling made my wrists throb. Made my ankles cry out in pain. But I crawled after Jang Ah Rin with a smile on my face. I was going to eat. I was starving.

I followed her out from the bathroom, through the hall and towards the kitchen. My hands slapped the wooden floor boards as I hurried off behind her.

As I made it into the kitchen, I peered around for any signs of food. But I paused as I in fact, saw none. It was surprisingly clean.

"Ah Rin?" I asked softly, looking around before I turned to her. "What are you going to m--"

She grabbed me by the roots of my hair, before she slammed my forehead into the corner of the table. I cried out, crumpling to the floor as blood started to drip down my face.

I looked up to Jang Ah Rin as she glared down at me. "W-What--"

"Don't get too ahead of yourself" she said softly. "I'm not making dinner."

She went to another room, two seconds later appearing with an old, shabby looking desk chair with wheels beneath it. She pushed it towards me, before she then grabbed me roughly and sat me onto it. She then opened a draw, grabbing a knife and laying it beside me. I gulped.

"I-I can't cook" I said weakly.

"Well learn" she said softly, but with a deadliness that made my spine shiver. "I'm going out."

I widened my eyes as I turned to her, not sure what to say. "O-Out...?"

She grabbed a leather jacket from the back of a chair at the table, slipping it on. She eyed me for a moment, before she then arched her hands back and started to tie up her hair with a hair tie around her wrist.

"Don't cross the line" she said simply, finishing her hair as she turned and walked towards the front door.

"W-what...line...?" I murmured.

She pulled out a knife from the inside pocket of her jacket, and then suddenly struck the knife down right in the middle of the hallway, lining up to where the start of the stairs were.

"This line" she said, giving me a look. "And if you cross this line..?" She grinned. "I will slowly cut you right under that soft chin of yours, and then cut down...down your chest, down your stomach..." she smiled warmly before she turned, walking outside and closing the door behind her.

I heard the door lock.

The first thing on my mind was food. I pushed myself towards the kitchen cupboards, the chair smacking into it. I opened them up, sighing as the only thing in there was dried sardines.

Who ate dry sardines...?

I looked back to the door, where Jang Ah Rin had left from.

I...I could...

Escape?

She wouldn't just leave me to escape, would she? No, she wouldn't be that stupid...Jang Ah Rin was smart... Ah-Rin...Rin...

Suddenly, there was a large slam of the door opening. I gasped and shrieked as I fell from the desk chair, smacking my head on the edge of the sink.

Had she come back? Had she known I was wanting to leave?

The door softly closed, and I whimpered as I clutched my head. Slowly, I turned around and widened my eyes at the person who walked down the hall towards me.

He was huge. Probably over six feet tall, and with noticeable muscle. He was handsome, with dark smokey eyes and dark, black hair, which was slightly curly and hanging in his eyes as the sides were cut shorter than the front.
