A girl, looking about ten years old, trudged through the trees, shivering from the cold rain. She hugged herself tightly in a desperate attempt to warm herself even a little bit. She'd been walking for days, hungry and exposed to the elements. She could feel herself growing weaker from starvation and sickness. Wherever she was, she prayed she wasn't much farther from some sort of sanctuary. She was only walking before, but she was so desperate for shelter, she began to run, then sprint. Her stamina wasn’t as high as she thought, because she fell flat on her face in the cold mud. She spat out grass as she stood up, her legs shaking. She wasn’t going to last much longer.

After what seemed like hours, she broke through into a clearing. A large mossy gate towered before her. It was cracked just enough for her to slip through.

"Oh, thank God," she breathed.

Ducking through the gate, she paused to gawk at the massive mansion that appeared before her.

“Oh my God,” she whispered, her big, violet eyes widening.

Her teeth chattered uncontrollably and she shook her head, dashing towards the door and punching it down with all of the strength she had left. She finally pushed through and fell down, already feeling more exhausted than a few seconds ago. She breathed heavily. She heard loud gasps of people and she froze.

Oh, she bit her lip, Oh fuck, there’s people.

She was hesitant to move. Maybe she could pretend to be unconscious and she wouldn’t have to deal with meeting them for a while. She squeezed her eyes shut, selfishly hoping they would help her, but also hoping they would leave her alone.

“Intruder!” a tiny, male voice screamed. “Mweh, stop right there!”

The girl held her breath, keeping her eyes closed. She could feel the people in the area staring her down.

“Wait,” the boy spoke, “you’re stopped already.”

She sighed silently, it was too late. They know she’s in the building. She might as well introduce herself in case they do actually want to kill her.

“I’m sorry,” she said weakly, rubbing her arm nervously, “I-I didn’t realize there were people in here. I was trying to get out of the rain.”

She examined the three people in front of her. There were two girls and a dog the height of a Great Dane if it stood on its hind legs, but he sure didn’t look like one, or stood like one. The two girls looked smaller in height of her, one was laying down and the other was staring calmly at the dog boy.

The girl turned to the other, “Are you, too, a runaway?”

“Uh,” the girl bit her lip, stuttering, “w-well, yeah. I guess I am.”

“There’s so many people running away in here tonight,” the blonde girl murmured. “We’re all going to fix this place up and live in it, you should join us!”

“Mweh,” the dog boy leapt up, throwing his arms up, “join our group! You’re not a stranger anymore!”

She stood, shocked. She cleared her throat, before looking down shyly and asking, “I-uh… you’re not all scared of me?”

The blonde girl’s happy expression immediately twisted into a more serious look. “No, why would we be?”
The new girl swallowed, before pointing to the giant horns stemming from her head. The other girl glanced, and she shrugged.

“I think they’re unique,” she says.

The dog boy’s white eyes widened as his jaw dropped. “Woah! Those are cool!”

“W-Wow…” another voice perked up quietly. The tiny girl laying on the blonde’s lap was awake, and she looked miserable. “You're half human, too?”

“I just-” the tall girl looked away nervously, “I just have horns.”

“I'm Pud!” the brown haired girl chimed. She looked like hell, but for some reason she was smiling.

“I'm Blue,” the blonde held up her hand slightly.

“Mweh, I'm Vinny!” he proudly pointed his thumb at himself.

The girl looked at all of the kids in front of her, then at the fire on the ground. She hugged herself slightly, smiling and sitting down with the group.

     “I'm Eris,”

A/N:
Sorry this is a short one. My pals and I are writing this off of an RP chat, and the chat got deleted so I gotta make up a couple scenes. Don't worry, things don't get boring pretty soon.
