I sighed, yet another hot, boring,and annoyingly bright day and I was fanning myself. At least today we were talking about Greek mythology, a subject I have personal experiences with.When my brother Dell Philby, born computer nerd, and best friend Kristin Hart, who was SUPPOSED to be sick, started tapping on the window. I stood up and said,
" Mr. Hanson, my mom just called She wants me to come home!"
Mr. Hanson, bless him, was not the brightest. He sighed,
" Okay Miss. Phillby. No homework."
I got a look from Owen that screamed... Lucky. I walked outside to where my brother and best friend where and said,
" Wow. Philby you're supposed to the smart one!" He looked at me with a look of disapproval.
" Well, mom did want to get you out of school early. I just beat her to it. Now come on we're late." We walked Kristin back. Then we went to a park where Finn, Willa, Maybeck, Charlene, Jess, and Amanda were waiting.
" Sorry we're late. Princess here was slow." He explained sitting so close to Willa that they were practically right on top of each other. I wasn't the only one who noticed, Maybeck's eyebrows raised not very subtlety. Finally Wilby was happening. I jumped into the air, getting a bunch of strange looks.
"What?!" I asked, trying to make myself seem as innocent as possible. "So why the conference?"
"We need to head to New York," Finn said. "Wayne said something about there being a problem up there."
"Well when when do we leave?" I asked.
Everyone murmured in agreement.
"We are leaving now. But we are going by plane."
"Ok" was all that I could reply. Once we were on the plane an idea began to form in my mind. I was inwardly freaking out about it and hoping that I was wrong. Deep down I knew that I was right though.
After about five hours we were in New York walking to Central Park when I alone heard a strange hissing noise. "Medusa. But Percy said he killed her." I suddenly turned around to see something horrible. I only saw the lower half but what I saw terrified me.
