Could this week go by any slower? Apparently, yes.

It was Wednesday, and every Wednesday night I had a part time job at a library, about ten minutes away from home. I hated being cold and having to walk ten minutes in the snow wasn’t my ideal way to spend the night.

The library was pretty quiet; I mean who goes to the library anymore. Unlike normal seventeen girls, I enjoy reading, I’m not a bookworm or anything I just enjoy good book once in a while.

My job was to help anyone in the library; when people actually came, which is rarely and organise the book and make sure they’re in good condition when people return them. It was simple and with the money I got once a week, I could put it in my savings. I was planning on getting a proper job once I graduate and turn eighteen which is in January.

Three customers and two hours later, my shift was over, I locked up and made my way home in the dark, cold streets. I had a huge phobia of the dark, I didn’t feel and I always thought that someone was out to get me or kidnap me or something.

With every step I took in the empty street, I looked behind me, my imagination taking over my mind. After a while, I heard footsteps behind me and I wasn’t sure if I was imagining things or not, so I just kept walking, trying to think of something else to keep my mind occupied, and that something was Harry. I took my phone out from my pocket a dialled his number.

‘Hello’ As soon as I heard his voice, I instantly felt safer.

‘Hey, what are you up to?’ I asked.

‘Nothing just finishing some homework, what are you doing?’ I smiled at his answer.

‘Since when do you do homework?’ I asked, Harry wasn’t the kind of person who cared a lot about school, but at the end of the day he wanted to graduate and have a good job, this was one of the many reasons I loved this boy- wait did I just say I loved him? Did I?

Harry’s voice kicked me out of my thoughts, ‘Did you hear me?’

‘No sorry I was distracted’ I said, smile apologetically even though he couldn’t see me.

‘It’s ok; I said where are you there seems to be a lot of noise’

‘I’m walking home from the library, my shift just ended, and I was about to freak out ‘cause I was hearing footsteps behind me and-‘

‘What?! Is someone following you?’ Harry cut me off, a grin formed on my face. I loved how he so protective.

‘I don’t know, I looked behind me and I couldn’t see anyone, and my first thought was to call you’ the words just blurted out of my mouth.

‘I’m honoured that I was your first choice’ I could here the sarcasm in his voice, ‘Do you want me to pick you up?’
