Ever since I saw his face, I knew he was the man for me. I haven't seen him since the accident, but I know he's still out there, waiting for me. It was a hot summer day, June 6th, my expectations low, my depression high, just like usual. I was still hot and sweaty from biking the entire way to the unfamiliar school. "Darn," I said to myself as I looked down at the time on my watch, 8:12. I sighed as I looked down the row of teenagers, trying to spot my friends from the crowd. But then I smelled a familiar scent, rotting flesh that has been out in the sun for too long. I crinkled my nose and kept walking, my eyes focused on what was ahead. But somewhere deep in my mind, I knew it was him. I heard a voice, "You're late." It was the two people I've been trying to end my friendship with for a year or so, Adam and Regina. I laughed sarcastically, they laughed back, I don't think they picked up on it. We only had a little time to talk before Coach Yozenfrogurt called for us to get up and walk around the gym. Then I smelled it again, this time more pungent, the memories flooding back like the Hoover Dam collapsing on a thousand men, and I saw him. God, I just wanted to smoosh my- "All right, everyone sit in the center, girls on the right, boys on the left," screeched Coach Bang, or Coach E for short. I sprinted as fast as I could to get a seat next to him, Adam staring at me with a look of betrayal and hurt. Xavier offered me a towel, freezing, his eyes widening, realizing it was me. "Hi," I said nervously, my armpits perspiring profusely like ice cream melting in an old woman's microwave. He stared blankly at me, not uttering a single word. At that moment Coach Bang (Coach E) and Coach Yozenfrogurt yelled, "Time for our daily Nohcarts!!" I nervously glanced around at my fellow students, "What are those?" I said as people started dropping like a pile of old clothes falling off the balcony. Xavier responded quickly, "Oh, you'll see." To my terror, everybody began crab walking across the gym while Coach Bang was violently screaming multiple times, "BANG BANG BANG." Inspiring. Seeing Xavier in that position made me think of our history together.
