Honey

Harlie and Travis both called me up that morning, asking me if I was ok. Me, ok? No! I just saw Travis and Harlie cuddled together on the sofa! I didn't want to but I went to see Honey. It was just me now and I was determinded to get her showing as soon as possible with no boys in my way, unless it's a gelding then that's fine.. Honey always neighed at me when I arrived, I tacked her up and started canter work on her. She went straight into canter, only a few brakes. Tina came in to see the progress. "She's going brill! We can go to a showing class tomorrow if you want?" I agreed and told mum. 

That night I stayed at the stables, all my showing stuff was washed and drove over by mum, I had spent all evening washing Honey and brushing her, she had her stable rug and tail bandage on to stop any poo or mud getting on her and I settled down in the hay loft to sleep. It was about 11:00 pm and I had a call from Travis. "Hello?" Travis was shouting down the other end. "Hey.." I replied slugishly. "I hope you are really ok Jess, I'm here if you need me." Travis breathed heavy down the phone. It was silent for about 10 seconds. "Travis, you aren't here for me. You're only there for Harlie." I pressed the hang up button and turned my phone off.

The sound of Tina bringing her horse, Tizer out of his stable woke me. His loud clacking on the concrete echoed around the stables. I dressed into some old clothes and took Honey out next to Tizer. "Morning Jess!" Tina smiled at me, Tizer nuzzled me too. Tina was doing the show jumping course at 3 foot 6 as Tizer was a fantastic jumper. I was just entering a normal walk, trot and canter showing class. When we had finished grooming and cleaning tack, Honey and Tizer loaded into the lorry and we set up. As we set off down the road, my favourite song, Classic by MTKO! Me and Tina both jammed to it. Amazingly, Tina came 1st with Tizer in her class and I came 5th! I was so happy with Honey. Tina took a video of me and Honey so she could put it on her Facebook page. Mum was happy too and was proud of me and Honey.

Travis came over, still worrying about me. Mum let him in, knowing that he was my best friend.. I think? He knocked on my door and came in. I sat on my bed looking at Travis. "Hi." He sat down beside me, I replied with a 'hey'. "What is wrong? You seem down at the moment. I saw the video of you and you looked really good. I'm sorry I can't come. I've joined the cadets and I have to go everyday to train for army." Travis put his arm around me and smiled. "What? The army?" I couldn't believe it, Travis was going to the army? "You can't go!" I buried my face in my hands. It was a few years but he was still my best friend. "Well, it depends if I get through to the actually army course." He looked me in the eyes. "Just thought I'd say." He smiled and left the room. I cried a bit, a cried alot.

It was offcial that Harlie and Travis were dating, Harlie texted me to say and I didn't reply. I loved Travis in my heart and not in my head.. but they say 'follow your heart' so I try but I guess it fails.
