The Amazing Tales of Groomigan

Chapter 14

     I sighed, hearing the bell rang. I looked up at the student's worried.

     "You're free to go." I said. The student smiled, jumping up from their seat. They gave me a thankful nod, as they left my office.

     I organized a few papers before heading to the waiting room. I didn't make it far into the room, before one of the secretaries stopped me. What was her name? The blonde one?

     "Mr. Haar." She waved me over. 

     I gave her a quick smile. "What is it?"

     "Officer Goldak brought your coffee in." She informed me, handing me the vile cup. it was one of those silver thermal cups.

     I took it back to my office. I'm not really a fan of coffee. It's always too bitter for me. But... I'd feel bad if I didn't drink it. He did give it to me, after all. I should at least try it.

    Hesitant, I raised the cup to my lips. Wait a minute... I place the coffee back onto the desk.

     Didn't Goldak drink out of this? Isn't that the same as an in-direct kiss??? No. I need to stop thinking like a child. There's no way Goldak sees it as that, so I shouldn't either. It's just friends sharing a drink. That's all.

     I took a drink of the coffee, immediately regretting it. I almost spit it out, but forced myself to drink what I had in my mouth.

     "Bitter." I mumbled, setting the cup onto my desk. I left it to sit, as I exited my office. I walked through the cafeteria, heading towards students services.

     "Mr. Haar!"

     I looked up, only to spot Officer Goldak. He was leaning onto he railing, standing above the cafeteria on the overhead walkway. He smiled, seeing that he caught my attention, and waved. He opened his mouth to say something, but stopped when one of the other faulty passed by him. 

      He looked at me, mouthing 'I'll talk to you at lunch.'

      I nodded, fighting the smile that was making it's way on my face. 

     At least I have something to look forward to.
