The Magical Candy

Oh no! He is going to kill me. Oh! Hi I didn't notice you. I am Zack Chase. Someone is following me. But now I am safe for few hours. No need to worry we are just playing hide and seek. But it does not mean that my life is normal. Let me start from beginning because you should know about me. I hope you are not one of my types. Let me tell you in detail...

     My summer vacations were going on and one day I was having my lunch with mom and dad. Suddenly dad phone rang. He talked for few moments and said, "I have to go for work and the boss had called both of us."    

      Mom and dad both are scientists. They both work at the same lab. So as always they are going out and I was alone. I said, "Ok! Have a good day." They both moved out and I finished my lunch.

    I called my best friend Bruno to come. He arrived and we played for few hours. Then Bruno grumbled, "It is very boring."

   I told, "We can go to basement and play table tennis." He agreed and we climbed down. We were playing suddenly Bruno asked, "Where that door leads?"

  I looked at the direction where he was pointing and I laughed, "It is just a 3-D poster."

  He said, "It looks so realistic."

   I agreed, "Yup, when I saw it for the first time I also thought that it is a door. But dad corrected me and told that it is just a poster."

  He asked, "Can I touch it?"

  I told, "Dad never allows me."

  He said, "Oh! C'mon. Just once."

   I agreed, "Ok."

   We moved near it and to my surprise it was a door. I was able to touch the knob and the wood. How come I have never noticed it?  

   So I did the biggest mistake. I turned the knob and opened the door. There was a small room so only one person can fit in. I saw many cupboards. I opened them and saw a candy box. The candy was tempting and delicious.

   I took out the box and showed it to the Bruno. He was also amazed to see the box. Bruno told, "We should taste it."

   I said, "I don't know from how many years it is kept here. I think it is expired."

   He said, "It looks fresh."

    I was also tempted to taste it. But I was thinking why dad never allows me to open the door.

   I supposed that dad wanted to eat the candy alone. I took out the candy and I was about to break it in half. Suddenly dad came and asked, "Where are you Zack?"

   I gulped the candy and closed the door. It was bitter in taste. I wished that I could throw it out. Dad came and said, "Oh hi Bruno. Both of you come up and have dinner."

   I was surprised to hear that we played for six hours. Bruno said, "Thanks for your invitation but I have some work at home." And he ran away.

    I told, "I will wrap up the table tennis' table and come." Dad agreed and he left. I kept the box in the cupboard and closed the door. I ran upstairs and drank gallons of water.

     But the taste was still there in my mouth. I ate my dinner and ran in my room. I changed the clothes and slept. Next day I saw mom waking me up. She told "Wake up! It's evening."   

   Evening? How is this possible? It felt like I slept for minutes. I tried to move but I was so sleepy.     Mom asked, "Are you okay?"

    But I slept again. There were no dreams. Again I felt that someone is shaking me. I forced my eyes to open and I saw mom. She said, "Wake up! Doctor is here."

    Doctor came and he was checking me. After few minutes I heard something like, "He is okay and let him sleep."

    Next afternoon I woke up with a jolt. I was feeling fresh. I was surprised that I slept for one and the half day. I moved outside and saw a note. It said:

   I know you are ill. But I and dad have to go for an important work. Eat the breakfast and the lunch. We will be back till the evening.

Regards Mom

    I was very angry. I moved down and looked in the fridge. There was no food. I was really frustrated. Suddenly the dining table broke into pieces. I was shocked. I didn't understand anything.

    Suddenly the bell rang. I opened the door and a man entered. I asked, "Who are you?"

     He asked, "Where is Zack?"

    My heart skipped a beat. I stammered, "I am Zack."

    His eyes started glowing. Energy started radiating from his body. He growled, "Give me my candy."

     I wanted to speak but my mouth was dry. He repeated, "I want my candy." I hesitated, "I can buy you a new one..."

   He interrupted, "I want it now."

   I confessed, "Actually I ate it."

   He shouted, "Then I will tear you and take it out."

   Was he serious? I said, "It was just a candy."

   He got angrier. He came near me. His nails grew. I was so scared. I ran into my room.

   I hoped that mom and dad will come soon, I got angrier. Suddenly my bed broke into pieces. I was shocked. Then the door opened and I saw mom and dad.

    Before I could speak dad asked, "We know about the man. You are out of danger for few hours. Now tell the truth you actually ate the candy?"

    I didn't speak anything so mom repeated, "Zack did you eat the candy? Tell us. You are actually in danger."

 Oh wait I think he is coming near me. I have to find a better place to hide. I will tell you later...
