At the end of the school day, Gavin and I got in his car and drove to work.

“So what are you doing with your future?” asked Gavin as he put his arm around me like Spinner does. It was nice, but to be honest I liked it better when Spinner did.

“I’m heading to New York with Baylee and Spinner. I hope to become a hair stylist.” I said. Gavin chuckled. What was so funny?

“Didn’t they graduate last year?” asked Gavin.

“Yeah.” I said.

“Ok. Speaking of Spinner, are you guys dating?” asked Gavin. I couldn’t believe he thought that.

“No.” I said. For some reason I felt kind of wrong for saying that, but it was the truth. Gavin took his arm off me and parked the car. We walked into work and threw our shirts on. I worked at my station in the typical silence until my shift ended.

Gavin and I walked down to Kevin’s office to drop off our shirts. When we got to the office we met up with Spinner. After this morning, I felt awkward around Spinner. I walked out of the office with Spinner and we headed out to the car. Spinner put his arm around me and I couldn’t help, but put my arm around him. We got in the car and put our arms around each other again. Spinner started driving with his arm still wrapped over me.

“How was your day?” asked Spinner.

“Good, how was yours?” I asked.

“Same.” Said Spinner. I think my relationship with Spinner was changing and I liked the changes. The rest of the ride home was silent.

When we got home, it was silent. Baylee was still out. Spinner went into the kitchen and heated up some of the leftover pancakes from yesterday. I decided to go put on some comfy pajamas and sit on the kitchen. Spinner brought over the pancakes. I put two on my plate and ate them.

“What do you want to do after this?” asked Spinner.

“You pick.” I said.

“Do you have any homework?” asked Spinner. I laughed. Our school is too stupid to give homework and even when we do, we just wind up doing the whole thing in class.

“No.” I said as I finished my pancakes and put my dish in the sink. I decided to go into Spinner’s room and lay on his bed. After sleeping there last night, I found out his bed in cozy. Maybe I will stay another night here. Spinner walked in and smirked.

“You spending the night again.” Said Spinner. I smiled and got under the sheets.

“If that’s ok with you.” I said. Spinner changed and got under the covers too.

“Stay as long as you want.” Said Spinner. I smiled. What had gotten into me? I…I think I like Spinner in a more than friends way. It felt good, better than that love feeling I feel for Gavin. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up to the sound of Spinner’s alarm clock. He chuckled.

“Sorry about the alarm clock.” He said staring at me and holding my hand. I liked it. Inside I felt all bubbly like never before. This was so much better than what I felt for Gavin because it was real.

“It’s good.” I said. I couldn’t help myself, I kissed him and he kissed me back. Fireworks emitted, it was my first kiss.

“I can wait a bit.” Said Spinner hitting snooze on the alarm and kissed me again. A few minutes later, his alarm went off again. Spinner sighed.

“Now, I actually have to get up.” Said Spinner as he got out of bed.

“What is this?” I asked because I didn’t know what we were doing.

“Whatever you want it to be.” Said Spinner as he left to go take a shower. I smiled. Whatever this was I really liked it and I didn’t want it to end. A few minutes later, Baylee came in and sighed.

“Are you taking up a residency here?” asked Baylee.

“Is Gabe taking up residency here or are you moving in there?” I fired back.

“He actually asked me about living conditions. If I would move in with him.” Said Baylee.

“Do it, you guys are cute together.” I said. Baylee laughed.

“Thanks, I will think about it.” said Baylee. Think about it, I thought.

“What’s there to think about?” I asked. Baylee walked out and lit a cigarette. I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom and got ready for school. Spinner must have left already. After I finished getting ready for school, we left. Baylee was dressed casual as though she was just going to work in her room.

“Do you have any plans for the day?” I asked.

“Picking up some shifts at the tattoo parlor and driving you to work.” Said Baylee.

“Nice.” I said as I lit a cigarette for Baylee and myself.

“Sorry to be annoying, but what is going on with you and Spinner?” asked Baylee as she grabbed the cigarette and puffed out a gray cloud. I didn’t know how to answer her. Baylee is my best friend, but she is also best friends with Spinner so it would be awkward if I told her I had my first kiss with Spinner.

“I’m not exactly sure either whatever it is I like it.” I said letting out a cloud of smoke as we pulled into the school.

“Don’t do anything stupid.” Said Baylee. I grabbed my backpack and left the car. Baylee drove off. As I walked into school, I saw Gavin coming towards me.

“Can I give you a ride to work?” asked Gavin as he put his arm around me. I couldn’t deny the ride.

“Sure.” I said. Gavin kissed me on the cheek and walked to class. I went to my locker and grabbed my books. Inside, I was surprised he kissed me. In my daydreams of Gavin, I would have thought even the slightest kiss would give off fireworks. For a moment I wondered, what was going on with my love life?
