During the night Lanie staid up to check on Kate. She was still passed out but she was stable. Her wrist wasn't bleeding anymore and she wasn't hot anymore.
Lanie couldn't sleep because she was shocked by what just happened. She knew her best friend was in a lot of pain but she didn't think it was that bad. And she couldn't reach Rick which worried her. At one point she asked herself if they broke up but she knew the two of them were soul mates and couldn't leave each other.

Around 2 am Kate started to toss and turn as if she had a nightmare.
- "No!! Please!! Rick..." she yelled in her sleep
Lanie took her in her arms, trying to calm her down.
- "Katie, honey. Wake up, it's just a nightmare. I'm here." she said stroking her back.
- "Please don't leave me!" she said in tears.
- "Kate! It's ok. Wake up." Lanie said still trying to calm her down.

Kate opened her eyes and sat up all confused and held a hand to her head.
- "Rick?" Kate said and looked around.
- "He's not here sweetie, it's just me." Lanie said.
Kate still held a hand to her head and that's when she saw her wrist.
- "What happened to me?" Kate said more confused.
- "Kate, when I found you, you were unconscious and your wrist was bleeding pretty bad so I had to fix it." Lanie said and looked up.
- "Oh, I think I remember some parts of it..." Kate said and was still a little confused why Rick wasn't there.
"Where's Rick?" Kate asked.
Lanie had tried to get in hold of him but he hadn't answered.
- "Sweetie, he wasn't here when I got here and he doesn't pick up when I'm trying to reach him. I don't know where he is." Lanie said and wiped away a tear that suddenly had appeared under Kate's eye.

Kate remembered more and more now. Why she had gotten herself drunk and why he wasn't answering.
- "I know where he is..." Kate said and the tears started to come more and more.
- "Where sweetie? I have to get a hold of him so he knows what happened to you." Lanie said.
Kate stood up and walked out from the bedroom. Lanie followed her.
- "He's with his girlfriend." Kate said between sobs and sank down on the couch.
- "What are you even talking about, you're his wife." Lanie said and gave her the "Lanie look".
Kate couldn't even say it, she just wanted to throw up.
- "Lanie, he's cheating on me!" Kate said when she had gathered up the courage.

Lanie just sat on the couch completely stunned. This was definitely not the Richard Castle she knew and the last thing he would do to Kate was cheating that she knew for sure.
- "Are you sure?" Lanie said.
Kate couldn't answer before she ran to the kitchen and threw up in the sink. She grabbed a few painkillers and a glass of water.
- "Of course I'm sure, he talked to her on the phone the other day." Kate said and took two painkillers and gulped them down with water.
- "Oh sweetie, I'm sorry. I can't believe that he did this to you after everything you two have been through." Lanie said and grabbed Kate and squeezed her hand.
- "Yeah, he probably doesn't want me because I can't give him what he wants." Kate said and looked down.
- "Don't you dare blame this on you!" Lanie said just as they heard keys in the lock.
