Alana sat in her room, blue headphones on head, Playstation 2 controller in hand.
"Loni!"
...
"Loni!!"
...
"Alana Justice Spirit!!"
Alana felt her headphones being ripped off of her head, "Alana! I have been calling for you! You seriously need to turn down those headphones if you can't hear me."
The black haired girl rolled her eyes, "Sorry, mom." She said, pausing her game and standing up from her beanbag chair, "What do you need, mother dear?"
"Enough with the attitude, Alana."
Alana stayed quiet, watching her mother. Her mother was a wrinkled young woman, at only age 39, she looked like she could be the girl's grandmother. After Alana's father died, her mother went down hill, starting up two more jobs just to keep their two bedroom house.
"I'm sorry, what do you need?"
"I need to talk to you."
Mrs. Spirit stood up, walking over and sitting on Alana's bed, patting down on the spot next to her, motioning for her daughter to sit down next to her. Alana did as she was told, looking over to her mother.
"I know you're going to hate hearing this but.. We are moving.."
"Excuse me?"
"We have to, Alana.. We have no choice."
Alana's eyes filled up, "I'll get a job! I'll help you with the bills! I'll do anything! Mom, I love New York.. I can't move.. I barely have any friends, now, how the heck am I supposed to make new ones?"
"You'll manage.. My work is making me move.."
"W-where?"
Alana begged for another big city, she loved the constant rush of things, the glowing lights at night.
"Idaho."
Alana jumped up from her bed, her hands in fists as she began to pace the room. "IDAHO!? WHAT'S IN IDAHO!"
"Alana. You have to calm down.. There isn't anything I can do."
"There has to be something!"
"No. We are moving. It's final."
Her mother's eyes turned harsh as she stood up, "I have boxes in the garage. Get started."
Alana sat down on the bed with a sigh, running her fingers through her hair. Her eyes filled with tears, looking over to a picture of her and her father when Alana was only 5.
"If you were still here you wouldn't of let this happen.."
