(What up fellow fanders! Azeela here, and here is a little story to see what would happen if the sides met Sleep? Now, time to meet Remy!)
Virgil's POV
It's too quiet. Usually I can hear the others at night, even with my headphones on. Roman would usually binge watch Disney movies and sing every song by heart, Logan would prepare Thomas's plan for tomorrow, read a mystery book, then head to bed at 10 sharp, and Patton would be heard gushing over Thomas's baby pictures and drawings from kindergarten. But strangely, everything was quiet.
I took off my headphones and listened. Nothing.
It was 8:37, they should still be up, so I ventured out of my room and headed towards Roman's room.
"He's in there, but I don't know if he'll be happy to see you," a voice said in my ear.
"Ugh, shut up Deceit!" I snapped, turning around to face him.
"Now Virgil," he said slyly, "It's rude to yell at an old friend."
"You are not my friend. Now leave me alone," I said, using a bit of the darker tone I would use when I wanted Thomas to listen to me only.
"Virgil, I'm just trying to help you. A little piece of advice to a once ally. But, if you insist," Deceit said as he started to head off into the shadows before adding, "By the way, someone else is here in the mindscape. Friendly or not, I don't know, but what I do know is that this is his first time here. Hello, Virgil."
And with that, he disappeared.
Hello, Virgil? Oh, he meant goodbye Virgil. I thought to myself. He was speaking in lies. He always speaks in lies. That's why I can't trust him, not again.
(This story is drawing on the theory that Virgil was a Dark Side, so he use to work for Deceit.)
Since I knew Deceit lies, I skipped Roman's room and, with my hands in the pockets of my hoodie, walked over to Patton's room.
Right when I made the halfway point to his room, something ran into me and knocked me on the floor!
"What the heck?!" I shouted.
"Oh! I'm like, so sorry! Don't know my way around here, I get lost often," a man said as he held out his hand for me to grab.
Wincing slightly since I fell on my elbow, I took his hand and let him pull me up. After dusting myself off, I got a good look at the new side.
He had a white T- shirt with a blue out line, a black leather jacket, a brown satchel, sunglasses even though it's nighttime, and a Starbucks drink in one of his hands.
"I'm Remy. Thomas's sleep," He said.
"Wait, but that's not a side to Thomas, that's something he does. How are you here?" I questioned, then quickly added, "I'm Anxiety, by the way."
Like heck I'm telling him my real name. I just met him. Plus, he could be working for Deceit, and I don't want to trust anyone working for that slimy boi.
"Okay. So, I'm like, really lost. What is this place?" Remy said, taking a sip out of his drink.
"This is the mindscape, where all of us side's rooms' exist. How did you get lost?"
"Well, Thomas found out that he lost his car keys and couldn't find them all day, so now that it's late he went off to bed but I got lost, so he can't sleep," Remy answered calmly.
"Wait, WHAT!? We have to find a way to get you back! Come on!" I grabbed his arm and started dragging him.
"Where are we going?" He asked.
"To Logan's room."
"But why? I want to explore," He whined.
"Because," I began, starting to, no surprise here, become anxious, "If Thomas can't sleep, he won't be ready for the morning. Not being ready for the morning will cause Logan to have trouble focusing on what needs to be done. If Logan can't focus, then neither can Roman or Patton, and Thomas will end up being a tired mess!"
"...Who are Logan, Roman, and Patton?" He asked.
I felt a soft smirk make its way to my lips. "They're my friends. Now hurry up."
When we made it to Logan's room, I knocked rapidly to get his attention. "Logan? You in there?"
"Come in, Virgil."
I signaled Remy to stay there and walked into his room. Logan was reading a Sherlock Holmes book on top of his navy blue bed, and adjusted his glasses before asking, "Greetings, what brings you to my room?"
"I need your help, Thomas is loosing sleep."
"Well, he should be able to go to bed after a few minutes."
"No, I mean he ACTUALLY lost sleep," I explained as I pulled Remy into the room.
"Hey! Watch the jacket!" He complained.
"This is Remy, Thomas's sleep. He got lost when Thomas couldn't find his car keys."
"Salutations Remy," Logan said as he got off his bed, "Do you know how to be found?"
After taking a long sip of his drink, he said, "Nope."
"Well it seems the best way to solve this predicament is for one of us to summon ourselves out of the mindscape while holding on to Remy. That way, he will be back in the real world and Thomas will be able to get what people call, 'Shut eye' ," Logan said.
"You used a vocab word. Nice job." I told him.
"Thank you. Now all we need to do is hold on to Remy..." Logan paused, "Where's Remy?"
"What are you talking about?" I asked, "He's right behind me," I turned around, but there was no one behind me.
"Remy?" I called, "Remy? Remy?!"Dang it! I thought to myself. He ran off!
"He ran off, didn't he?" Logan asked.
"Yup."
"We're going to go find him, aren't we?"
I sighed, "Yup."
~One 15 minute Chase Later~
*paint* "Come on." *paint* "It's time to get," *paint* "You back to Thomas," I said,
"Awwww. But I didn't finish looking. There's a dragonwitch in one of the rooms!" Remy complained.
How is he sleep! This guy is active as heck! I thought to myself.
"I'll take him to Thomas, Logan. You go get ready for bed," I said, holding on tightly to Remy's sleeve.
"Thank you Virgil," Logan said, then added as he walked off, "And best of luck with not losing him."
"Thanks," I said, then turned my attention to Remy. "Ready to go back?"
I knew he would probably say no, so I quickly summoned myself next to Thomas, accidentally startling him in the process.
"What the heck?!" He shouted, putting down his phone.
"Sorry Thomas, but I had to drop this off," I said, letting go of Remy.
Huh, he has a label on him. It says Sleep. Wonder why he has that.
"Thank goodness you found him! Thought I'd be up all night. While he was missing, I found the keys! Left them in a drawer."
"No problem. Goodnight Thomas," I said sinking down.
"Goodnight Vir- uh I mean, Anxiety," he corrected, knowing that I wouldn't want Remy to know my name since I'm a little embarrassed cause of it.
After leaving, I went to my room, thought to myself, Man, what a night!, and disappeared under the covers, not caring to change into pjs.
The end.
