There was a scream, before a crimson cat stumbled into camp, screeching, and trailing blood.
"Roseheart!" Her crusher screamed, leaping forward. The cat looked at Icepelt, before collapsing.
Moon rushed over, sightless eyes wide. He felt along her body, getting dark, sticky blood all over his pale grey paws.
He then sniffed. "Deathberries..." The medicine cat muttered, hissing.
Darkfur looked up from where he was lying with his mate, Storm.
Nettlestar rushed forward, Jaggedpelt pulling her back, as to let Moon do his job.
Roseheart started spasming. "Deathberries!" She yowled as her mouth foamed. "Him! He!" The poor cat choked as her struggles became weaker. Moon shoved yarrow down her throat, but it was too late.
Roseheart stopped moving, letting out a last breath in a long sigh.
Icepelt started sobbing. He had been madly in love with her, after Darkfur was taken. "Roseheart.. Roseheart, no...!"
Nettlestar looked at the body, stricken. That was the second death... was StarClan determined to do her in?

After Roseheart was buried, Icepelt sobbed in the corner. The deputy, Flowerpetal, comforted him gently.
Nettlestar was curled up with her mate, her nose buried deep in his fur.
Even grouchy Darkfur misses Roseheart's constant sexuality jokes. It was oddly quiet without her.
Hawkfoot, a recent warrior/rogue, was sitting sadly in the corner. Her belly was a bit distended, either from too much fresh kill, or she's expecting. Probably the latter.

***

Flowerpetal sat in the nursery, feeding kits. Icepelt's kits. She seemed to be more distant lately, and had even told Nettlestar that she couldn't handle deputy job anymore.
Her daughter, Ashenbreeze, had been spending a lot of time with a warrior named Meadowfall. He comforted her constantly when she had nightmares, and she was pretty sure they'd end up mates.
Hawkfoot had given birth already, to a single kit named Rosekit. It resembled Roseheart in every way.

Hawkfoot approached Icepelt and Flowerpetal, holding Rosekit by the scruff.
"Can you please take care of her?!" She demanded, strain filling her quiet voice. Icepelt and Flowerpetal looked at eachother, before looking back and realizing that she had left Rosekit on the ground and had gone.
Rosekit mewled, hungry. Flowerpetal pulled the small kit closer and let her suckle with her three kits, Lightkit, Nightkit, and Twilightkit.

***

Rosekit was nowhere to be seen. Icepelt and Flowerpetal has looked everywhere.
Until when Icepelt was alone.
Vapor droplets surrounded him, then moved and made a bubble. It was as if the light of a thousand stars was shining upon that bubble, granting him the wisdom of StarClan.
When the bubble was gone, a crimson cat was left standing there.
