Everything has a beginning. Stories, lives, races, relationships, etc.
Did you know babies can't see anything but shapes for a long while after they're born? And everything they hear is jibberish to them. They must be the most helpless beings on the planet considering that even when we grow up we're still pretty helpless.
Sorry my point is the beginning is confusing as hell and it doesn't always get better.
