Talia's POV
I followed Furry-Foot and Jinora for a fair distance. We were approaching a large gorge or pit that as filled with a smoke or fog. As they approached and slowed over it, i quickened my pace to catch up. Furry-foot let go of Jinora. I gasped and flew faster to catch up. I managed to crab her arm as she was screaming and fell but the collision and her weight, she wasn't heavy, i just wasn't strong, took me by suprise and i lost my concentration and started falling, I gasped and struggled trying to reagin my posture in the air and to stop flailing as we fell. Suddently my visoin went foggy, and we fell through the mist that filled in the large pit we were now in, I still had hold of Jinora's arm as we fell.
"oof" I said as my back hit the ground, consequently letting go of Jinora's arms as she landed besides me in a better fashion than me. I sat up shaking my head out, and looking around where are we, then turning to Jinora. "S-sorry" I said sheepishly looking at her.
"Why are you sorry?" She questioned sitting up too.
"I-I couldn't stop you from falling in here" I said simply to her.
"You tried" I smiled "you don't have to apologise" She stood up and offered me a hand. I smiled up at her taking the hand and standing up. "I'm Jinora" She said happily, ironic to our situation, after letting go of my hand once I was up.
"I'm Talia" I replied looking around. I quickly looked back at her remembering the question I thought of earlier "Are you an Air Acolyte?"
She looked confused "That seems familiar for some reason." she said thinking and more to herself, before asking "How do you know what an Acolyte is?"
Maybe she thought I was from before dad ran away, before the genocide, so I answered simply "My dad created them from the Official Avatar Aang Fan Club, it's an interesting story" I said the last bit getting slightly side tracked.
"Y-your dad?" she asked, she then must have registered "I didn't know dad had another sister" she said. she then turned to me seeing my confused face "I-I'm your Niece" she said simply, "I'm an airbender, my dad's Tenzin" she reiterated looking at me.
I just stared at her blinking not quite grasping what she was saying. I stumbled, sitting down. How long had I been in the spirit world? It made all my decisions come crashing back to me, I left them, for my selfish reasons.
"Are you alright?" she questioned softly crouching in front of me.
I just shook my head "no" I whispered "I-I left them" I added still whispering "all because I didn't like Kya's teasing" I rested her head on my arms bringing my knees up, I didn't realise I had started crying. I don't know what Jinora started doing but I remained like that, for I don't know how long, due to my state of mind I had returned to what I wore when I came here, the formal dress and my hair plaited and looped back up. I kept repeating that I left them, I was going mad within my guilt.
Time had passed, the next thing I knew was I was placed gently on the ground. I felt weak and I don't know why, I couldn't remember anything after chasing Jinora. I blinked my eyes open, there were three adults and Jinora, one was an Airbender he had the tattoos but he couldn't be could he, he was hugging Jinora, her dad maybe? there was also a woman dressed in a water tribe dress to too dissimilar to mine and a man dressed in Water tribe what seemed to be military clothing. I looked up at them unsure what to do, I stood up and took a step back they looked like family and I didn't want to interrupt. They had a quick family hug before separating and they turned to me, Jinora was on her feet now standing next to her dad.
"T-talia?" The woman uttered out fairly quietly as if not believing it.
I looked confused, how did she know my name "H-How do you know my name?" I asked looing at her.
She stepped forward, she gulped "I-it's me K-Kya" She pointed to her self and slowly neared me, a tear slipped down her dace. I gasped, they were older, how long had I been gone.
"K-Kya" I whispered looking at her, I then looked at the other two, putting the pieces together "Bumi" I said looking at him and then "Tenzin" I stated to him. They nodded, a few tears fell from me as well. "Y-your all old" I stated looking up at them all walking towards them.
"And your still young Tallie" Bumi said rubbing my hair smiling slightly sadly. I jumped at him hugging him closely, not realising how much I missed my older siblings. All three of them came in for a group hug.
I started crying "I'm S-sorry" I sniffed against Bumi's shirt. They left the hug, but still remained fairly close. Jinora looked confused, she stood by her Tenzin, so she was his daughter then, interesting. I stepped back off of Bumi, but still in the middle of the three "I-I'm sorry I left" I sniffed again.
Tenzin placed his hand on my shoulder, "It doesn't matter now" He smiled at me "What matters is your here now, you can live your life in the material world again" I smiled up at him.
I turned to Kya, she guilty, i then remembered why I ran off in the first place. I stepped towards her and hugged her hard, she will forever be my older sister. She bent down slightly hugging me too "I'm so sorry Talia" she placed a hand on my head once i looked up from the hug "I was jealous, and i'm sorry for everything i ever said. I missed you" she whispered the last bit.
I hugged her again before saying "I missed you too" she smiled "i should never have chosen the spirits over you guys" she stepped back looking at them all.
"Let's go home" Tenzin said before starting to walk. I followed eventually walking infront, between Kya and Bumi, i had a new sense of happyiness i didnt realise i was missing before.
