As I looked around I saw nothing but my comrades hanging inside septic tanks in nothing but their boxers. "W-what's going on here?" I asked nervously before realizing all eyes were on me. I, Johnson, sat there, cowering on the floor staring at a tanks filled with our comrades. I took a closer look at the one closest to the door "Is that..?" "Don't touch that please!" Sgt.Rick commanded before my muscle memory betrayed me and went to the position of attention. "Captain what's going on here?!" I shouted fearing what the response would be. "It's what we need to win the war son!" I turned to the door and saw the colonel standing there towering over me. His gun looked to weight twice as an man could ever be and his armor was scratched and dented in vital areas. He had the skull of a kyrx grunt hanging from his neck as if to show he is to be feared on the field. "I..I don't understand sir. How is our comrades being in..in testing tubes going to win this war for us?" I felt as if my face showed confusion just about as much as I felt confused. "You're comrades have been selected to go through a special training. Merging their DNA with that of a lyric king and king hopefully giving them the strength and power of a natural born." The colonels voice said booming over the room.
"This is progress son." Said the captain holding his head high. "It's the future! You're comrades will become super soldiers and show those kyrix bastards that we aren't one planet to be fucked with any longer." I stood there looking around the room. My mind was racing with questions and I longed to have them answered.
Something hard and cold poked the back of my head. "And now you've got to die for it to happen son." What I felt was the barrel of colonels gun against my head. The cold steel freezing to the touch against my buzz cut hair. I stood still not moving. "I don't understand sir. What does this and killing me have to do with winning the war. How will it help the war?" The captain walked towards me slowly and began to speak. "Because now you've seen something beyond your pay grade son. You've volunteered yourself now to become to next of your comrades to under training and become a super soldier for our nation." He stopped in-front of me. I felt the toes of his shoes pressed against my boots. "Don't worry son. You won't really die but who you are now you might as well consider dead." After that everything went dark. What had happened? What had become of me? What did the captain mean?
