"You.. You're... Mini Flint's? You? How? Dan? Oh my God." I said, trying to take the news in. I wasn't expecting this in the slightest.
"Jack, you're the only one who knows. You're the only one I want to tell. What am I going to do?" Ilona replied.
"Do you know if you're definitely pregnant?" I asked.
"No, not really. Do you mind asking Hayley to come with me? And tell her to say that we're having a girly day together."
"Yeah, I'll be sure to tell her. I'm in shock, Ilona. I can't get over it! Don't get me wrong, though. It's amazing news!"
"Thank you, Jack. I knew I could trust you."
She leaned over and hugged me. As I hugged her back, thoughts ran through my head. How am I going to keep this from Josh?!
I walked back to Josh and Hayley and because I was concentrating, I wasn't really registered to what was going on.
"You alright, Jack?" A voice asked.
"Huh?" I replied, looking up from the floor.
Josh was standing in front of me, looking a bit concerned.
"Jack, are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost." Josh asked, again.
"I'm... I'm fine." I replied.
"You positive?"
"Yeah. Want to go now?"
After we waited about 20 minutes on a Taxi, Josh couldn't help but take glimpses at me. As soon as we got to the house, that's when it all started.
"Jack, are you absolutely sure you're alright? You've been very quiet." Josh said, putting down his keys.
"I said I'm fine. I'm just... Not feeling well." I said, removing my jacket.
"What did Ilona say to you, Jack? To make you feel like this? Is it something bad?"
"She never said anything, I think I've had a bit too much to drink, that's all."
"Oh, right, I see."
"Oh and talking of Ilona, you are going on a girly day with her tomorrow, okay?" I said to Hayley.
"Oooh, okay!" She replied.
"Anyway, I'm off to bed, goodnight!" I said to Josh, Danielle and Hayley.
As I walked up the stairs to bed, Josh turned the TV on with Danielle resting on his shoulder. He looked so happy.
"Hay? Come here for me please? Ilona needed me to tell you something!" I shouted down to Hayley from the bedroom.
"Okay! One minute!" She answered.
As I climbed into bed, i saw a female figure standing in the doorway, it was Hayley. She looked worried, I think it was because she knew Ilona so well.
"So? What's up?" Hayley asked me, worryingly.
"Ilona.. S-s-she's pregnant."
Hayley just lay still until she fell asleep. Her face went pale. I went downstairs to get her a drink of juice, and when I came back up, she was in exactly the same spot. I left it by her side of the bed and got ready to go to sleep.
I climbed into the bed and closed my eyes.
"Jack?" Hayley said.
"What?" I replied.
"I love you." She whispered.
"I love you too." I whispered back.
I pulled her closer to me and kissed her goodnight and we slept like babies.
