Decadent transgressions into my own mind, trying to find some small semblance of Faith,

Trying to beat one more iota of Sanity into myself,

Yet discarding the combatants in lieu of color,

I strove to conquer my lack of self, and in the end succeeded in a moronic state of euphoria,

And watching myself through the windows of your eyes, I was forced to deal with things,

And I realized, I was fading away from what I used to be, the person I met once in the mirror, was gone,

In place of her was the monster I now face,

Invisible and ignored she stands in the back of my mind, screaming to be let out,

Shine the light in her eyes; try to avoid her grasping hands,

Fingers weaving through the air, stale and stagnant, just like a corpse,

Blankets of emotion choking me so softly, so neon green,

Bend and mold me, until I’m something different than before,

Grasp my hand and drag me back, making me seem innocent again,

It’s time for a new approach, perhaps I meant to encroach; to advance beyond your usual and proper limitations,

Perhaps I meant to hypnotize you with subliminal messages, and inconsequential memories,

All in all to tie you around my finger, wrap you tightly, cut the circulation away, and kill the master’s power,

Cut the strings, let me dance and prance like Pinocchio,

Flaunt my sass and class like Cleopatra,

Bullshit my way through everything like Fearless Leader,

Teach me how to forget you, show me how to cope with what I am now, or just drag me back, quit taunting me with your promises of light beyond the shadows…
