Chapter 1 The wind from the west

As Rachel walked down the Main Street to the inn with a bag full of clothes as she looks down a side ally in-between the bakers and the town merchant to see two men wearing black clothes and have rags around there neck she guessed they were just travelling men. She could see them arguing about something but she knew not to interfere after long hours of punishment for eves dropping on the towns folk.
but now the men are walking out and down the street the way Rachel just came from. they pass throughout the gate and onto the trail leading to the docks.they then talk to a captain of the "Sailing storm" and handed over a small sack full of something, Rachel had know idea what is in the bag but she realised that she had been staring at the two men for a while and her father was yelling at her to move to the inn.
she ran down the road and handed the bag to her father then walked into the taproom. it was quite because it hasn't been lunch yet.
Rachel's father, john falcon, was a strong man with who has the wits about him and a large sense of humour and his wife Merida falcon had dark brown hair and a graceful personality. It was the come to the last days of autumn and soon the winter winds and snow will cool the town in the mountains. and with the wind will bring the monsters and beasts that will destroy the towns and overtake the paths and tracks to other towns. Rachel walked up the stairs leading to the rooms that people could hire. her job was to clean after the people left. after that was done she could do what she wanted until lunch. "I'm done farther" She murmured.
"good job, but before you go..." He said."go to docks and give Gavin his food, its in that sack there,"
pointing towards a small bag siting on the serving table. "sure"she said,
grabbing it and run for the door, she got to the door when a old man walk right in front of her he was in his 80's but still strong. he slides past Rachel and steps near the serving table, then sits down. "il' have a beer, please," he said.
and as Rachel's mother pasted him his beer Rachel was already out the door and walking up the street.
When she got to the docks she sore the two men again but this time they were talking to gavin on his ship, Rachel ran up the bridge connecting the ship to the docks, and the men stopped talking a looked at her,
"sorry for interrupting" she said "but i have your lunch sir."

Gavin walked up to her a took the bag from her,
"thanks that will do"he said.
she nodded and ran off. gavin and the two men started talking and she herd the first few words
"we will strike tonight and then she ..."

When she got home it was lunch so she had to make her way from the side gate around the back of the inn. they had a small stable back here and there was a horse in there. it was a dark haired horse with a silver rimmed saddle, she guessed the owner of this horse was rich. Behind that was the town wall, not even two metres tall she could climb it easily and she did so, and once at the top she jumped down the other side with lead to a ancient Forrest called reedian.and that was when she found it ....
