--Destined to be yours--

"Serena, our company, it's going down..." My mom said in a low voice, as if naman totoo ito. Our company is the number one IT company in Asia. How could that be right?

"That's not you mom. You really don't have any sense of humor." I said while sarcastically laughing because why not?

"I'm being serious Serena! Our company is getting down and your father is being kicked out of the CEO position. Do you think this is just a joke? My gosh Serena!" My mom exclaimed, nerves are seen on her neck. Wait. So it's true? What will happen to us then? Paano na yung lakad ko with my friends this weekend?

"But mom, I have to hang out with Coleen this coming Saturday, you knew that right?" I furrowed my brows because I'm getting anxious. This can't be happening!

"For God's sake Serena! Ito na ang nangyayari sa atin tapos yan pa ang nasa isip mo?" Tears started falling from her eyes which is identical to mine, we have the same eye color. I felt some tingling pain in y heart by I ignored it.

"Okay mom, I'm sorry but do you have some spare money?" I asked with desperation. I need to go with Coleen this Saturday.

"Yes I have but we'll use it. We're going back to your father's hometown, Estadona. We'll start all over again there." My mom said while wiping off her tears. Tsaka ko lang narealize yung sinabi niya ng ulitin ko sa isip ko yung mga sinabi niya. I can't go back to that island! Going back there is like putting yourself in a cell! I can't!

"I can't mom! You, you and dad you can go back there but not me! I hate that island! There's no way I'm coming with you!" I exclaimed, voice reaching the top of my lungs.

"Don't raise your voice on me Serena! And you're coming with us!" I. Am. Shocked. This is the first time I saw my mom yelled and get angry. But hell! There's not any chance that I'll go to that island!

"Try me mom. I'll never go back in that island! Never!" I yelled and ran out of the house.

I dialed Emiliy's number. Maybe she can help me out and let me stay in their house until I can figure out something.

"Emily?" I asked with a bit of irritation in my voice.

"What is it Serena?" she asked, from what I heard, she just woke up.

"Can I go to your place?" It took some time before Emily responded.

"Not today or this week Serena. Have you forgotten? We'll be going out of the country, right? Japan? Remember?" I almost cursed when I realize that they'll go to Japan.

"Now I remember." I said. This is making me nuts! Where should I go then? Who to call? I know someone!

"Okay Emily, bye. Thanks by the way!" I said and she replied 'your welcome' and I cut off the call. Then I dialed some number. It took some time before she picked up.

"Hello Coleen? Mind if I stay in your house?" I heard her laughing from the other side of the call. May nakakatawa ba sa sinabi ko?

"OMG, is this Serena Kim?" what the hell? Did she just pretended that she doesn't know me? What the hell?

"Uhm, yes? It's the one and only Serena Kim. So can I stay in your place?" I asked her once again then heard her laughing, again.

"Uhm, let me think of that." she said then laughed again.

"What he hell Coleen? What is funny?" I exclaimed, raising my voice because it annoys me. She's laughing without me knowing the reason why?

"Are you badmouthing me Serena?" She said, halos pasigaw na ang boses nito ng sabihin niya iyon. I was shocked, how can she talk back to me? Does she know that if she mess with me she'll be in hell?

"Did you just raised your voice on me Coleen?" I heard her laughing again in the other side of the line.

"Yes I did. Because I don't wanna be friends with some loser. It's on the internet bitch! If your company is down then Serena Kim is also down. I just unfollowed you from all of my social media accounts. Bye! Gotta hang out with your boyfriend!" then she ended the call. Pain is crawling into my body. Diko namanlayan na umiiyak na pala ako. And her last sentence gave me the most painful punch. Why is she with my boyfriend?

I tried to call his phone but he's not picking up, so it's true then? My chest is throbbing, I'm suffocated by pain. How did this happened to us?

"Serena! We've been looking for you! 2 more hours before our flight to Estadona, get ready and don't be stubborn, please?" she said worriedly. I ran towards my mother at yumakap ako sa kanya ng mahgpit. Hoping na pagkatapos ng yakapan namin ay sasabihin niyang biro lamang ang lahat. Pero mali ako, it is reality. It's really happening.

"I know this is hard for you Serena but trust me and your dad. We'll start all over again in Estadona. I promise you." she said with too much care in her voice and landed one peck on my forehead. This is the very first time I felt so helpless, like going in a battle without any weapons.
