Their Not So Love Story

Chapter Eight

That night Sakura didn't sleep well thinking what Sasuke had replied to her when she greeted him a welcome home. Up until now she can't believe that her one and only, long time, love of her life is finally here at their village, Konohagakure.

"Good morning!!" she greeted everyone when she arrive at the hospital. Even the unknown faces of the other nurses. She didn't mind it though, she's happy and it is all that is matter.

"Good morning too Sakura-san" replied her assistant Miyu. "You look blooming today!" she complimented, handling Sakura a few documents. Putting it on her table piled up with a lot of paper works.

"Really? I didn't sleep well last night though." she said touching her face.

"But your look said otherwise" said Miyu.

"haha you really now how to flutter me, anyway thank you!" she humbly said.

"I'm stating the fact ma'am" Miyu said with a smile. "I have to go Sakura-san." she bid then went out of the office.

The hokage summoned the Uchiha to his office.

"Teme, the council and I talked about you," Naruto started. "What would you want to hear first, the good news or the bad news?" he asked.

"Good news" he replied emotionless.

"Okay, so they said that you may now reconstruct the Uchiha compound." the Hokage anwered cheerful.

"Hn. The other one?" Sasuke deadpan.

"Well, you see.." the blond is hesitant but tells him anyway.

"They also said that you will be marrying a girl in a prestigious clan in the Land of Waves. Whether you like it or not."

Days had past and the rumor about the Uchiha getting married spread out not just in Konoha but also in the whole Shinobi world.

"Hey have you heard?" a nurse said to her co-worker.

"About Sasuke Uchiha?" the girl with a brown hair replied.

Sakura, who is taking her lunch at the cafeteria, heard Sasuke's name and immediately her head spun towards the two.

"yeah, the girl is so lucky, isn't she?" the girl with short black hair said.

"well, he is too. I heard that the girl he was going to marry came from a noble clan at the Water Country. So, it's just fair." replied the nurse which receive an approval from the other.

Sakura, who is listening, try to process the information in her wide forehead.

Sasuke-kun,  noble clan, marry?

After completing the puzzle, the spoon she was holding suddenly fell on the floor. She cannot somewhat accept this.

He just return home, isn't he? she mutter to herself. Isn't this a bit too early? she added.

She stood up not finishing her meal. It seems that, she just loses her appetite today.
