Rory's point of view.

I squeeze gently on my father's hand telling him that everything will be fine. He is struggling to breathe and white foam started to erupt from his mouth.

"Father ... Please hang on," I beg feeling a lump grow in my throat.

Not long after two medics plough through the crowd asking everyone to back off immediately. One tugged me away as I'm forced to watch in horror.

They compressed his chest about three times before subsequently putting an oxygen mask over his face. The two men lifted him onto a stretcher and dash back to the ambulance.

I ran after them yelling that the man is my father. In doing so I was allowed to get into the ambulance and ride along to the hospital.

3 hours later ...

I sit with my phone in my hand,my head hanging low. My tie is loosened around my neck and I couldn't stop raking my left hand through my hair.

Suddenly my mother burst through the doors in tears, frantically looking for my father. I quickly shove the phone into my pocket.

"Mother," I pull her into a comforting hug.

Her tears started to soak my shirt. To be honest I was not sure how to deal with this. My entire life there was this gap between me and my parents.

They only tried to fill it with money. My mind raced and plucked out the few memories I shared with my father. Hardly anything to cry over.

I dry my mother's tears asking her to sit down. Getting her some water, I take my seat next to her and so we wait for what feels like a couple of life times.

4 hours later ...

A doctor appears in the hallway, his blue gloves are stained red with blood. His mask is still pulled over the lower half of his face.

"Rory?" He stops a few feet from me.

"That's me and this is my mother," I take her hand.

"Ah,well let me explain right away shall I?"

"Where's my husband!?" My mom asks frantic.

"Calm down ma'am. Your husband is in ICU. He had a heart attack," the doctor explains.

"A heart attack," I repeat.

My mother bursts into tears again.

"Unfortunately that's not all. We had to perform open heart surgery on your husband. One of the main ventricles connected to his heart collapsed."

"Can we see him?" I ask on my mother's behalf.

"Unfortunately no. Not yet," the doctor explains calm,"please come back tomorrow. "

I nod and thank the doctor, gently taking my mother by the shoulders. I offered to drive her home but she refused and drove off without another word.

30 minutes later ...

I arrive home. As I park my Mercedes in front of the garage doors,I turn off the car. Suddenly a devastating feeling of helplessness comes over me.

I bang my head on the steering wheel causing the horn to sound. Angry tears crawls into my eye lids, wavering to drop down.

I look up to see Ellie come racing out of the house. Opening the car door I slump into her arms, not being able to suppress my tears anymore.
