Snow falls outside the small olive-green house for the young couple tucked away inside to see. They lay in the most comfortable silence as they watch the white crystals be caught in the wind and pinned to the window to slowly melt from the heat inside.
"It looks so cold," Wendy said as she curled into Changhyun's warm chest for security. It had always been where she felt safest.
"That's because it is, Bunny," he replied with a light chuckle. "Snow exists for people like us. For couples. For friends. For families. Those looking for an excuse to be closer. Those in NEED of a reason to get close. It exists to unite people into close quarters and force them to interact. For warmth and security." He wrapped his long arms around her small frame and pulled her further into his embrace.
"When did you get so wise?" She muffled into his shirt, not bothering to move. Her nose was warm, why should she?
"It only lasts while I'm hungry I guess," he joked, hinting toward wanting to get food.
"Oh, should we eat? I'm hungry too now that you mention it."
"We can order in?" He asked rolling over to grab his phone from the table near the bed. Wendy groaned in irritation at the loss of warmth and contact.
"That pizza place a few blocks over delivers, sound good?" Changhyun asked as he looked down at his girlfriend.
"Yeah pizza sounds great. Just hurry and order it I'm cold!" She growled.
With a chuckle and a few keyboard clicks he submits the order and rolls back to the girl beside him.
"We have about 30 minutes before they get here, as long as the wind doesn't pick up that is." Changhyun carefully snakes his arms around his dainty companion and leans over her shoulder to leave a tender kiss on her jawline, lingering a moment to dwell in the sweet strawberry fragrance of her shampoo. As they wait for their food to arrive the couple decides on watching a movie and they had only just gotten into it when the doorbell sounded causing them to pause the movie and prepare themselves for sustenance.
"Thank you so much! Have a good evening and be careful out here!" Changhyun called after the young delivery boy, whom he'd decided couldn't be much older than twenty.
"Eat in bed?" He asks Wendy.
"Mmm, might be the most exciting thing to ever happen in this bed," she responds with a smirk.
"Oh okay. I see how you are." Changhyun holds his empty hand over his, feigning hurt by her words as he places the pizza down on the bed beside her with the other.
Carefully he opens the box and pulls apart two slices and lays them on a paper plate before handing it to Wendy and then repeating the action for himself.
"You know, one day our relationship may become a 'pizza' history," Wendy stated with her eyebrows raised, refusing eye contact as she took a bite of her slice. The couple stayed silent a few seconds before they both erupted in laughter at the lame attempt at a pickup line.
The rest of their evening was filled with bad puns and cuddling and playful bickering. And the couple wouldn't have preferred it any other way.
