Valentine?

Chapter 6

Sadhbh's alarm goes off and she jumps out of bed and gets ready to head to the airport so she can get to Hawaii with all the excitement she forgot that Michael was now going with her because Jay wanted her and Michael to sort out the crap so they can at least be on good terms again. 

"You ready to go"

"Yeah just let me grab my case"

"Good we are dropping you and Michael at the airport"

"Yeah that's cool hey Jay I know you mean well but please save me if this goes wrong"

"Nah you're on your own you need to talk to Michael to sort it out without life getting in the way"

"Fine"

They all pile into the car Jay and Luke are in the front while Sadhbh and Michael are in the back

"Hey you two might wanna start a conversation because you have a whole week stuck together"

"Sadhbh"

Sadhbh leans her head back and falls asleep when they get to the airport they wake her up and send them on their way then head home

"Listen Michael I don't want to do this anymore than you do so how about we agree now that when we get on the plane we don't talk because im exhausted and i'm not a nice person to talk to when im tired so do we have a deal to leave it till we both are more rested"

"Deal"

In no time they are on the plane and are heading to Hawaii the whole flight Sadhbh  sleeps and Michael just watches her to make sure she is alright when they land he wakes her up

"Are we there yet"

"Yeah we just landed"

"Okay"

They get off the plane then head to get their bags and in no time they are at the hotel so they head to check in unfortunately there was only one room booked so they have to share Sadhbh isn't thrilled with it but hides it from Michael as she doesn't want him to know. They hop in the lift and head to the floor their room is on when they get to their room she freezes as bad as it was having to share a room they now have to share a bed for the next week.

"Firstly I'm getting right side of the bed and you'll just have to deal with it ok Michael"

"Yeah that's grand"

"Perfect, now I'm going to start unpacking"

They unpack in silence and when they are done Sadhbh sits on the bed

"We may at least talk about it otherwise it'll just be a tense and awkward holiday"

"Okay"

Michael sits down beside her

"Sadhbh I'm sorry that I stormed out like that I just couldn't get my head around the fact that you had cancer and that I nearly lost you without even knowing it made me realize that since highschool I made the biggest mistakes of my life not talking to you and I regret every minute that I wasted not being there for you and not telling you stuff that I wanted to tell you"

"It's okay Mike I wasn't mad at you I was mad at me because I knew it was overwhelming information and I sprung it on you to fast"

"Sadhbh I'm sorry for giving up on trying to talk to you I'm sorry"

"It's not your fault it's mine I pushed you away if I never pushed you away things would be different now"

"Like this kind of different"

Michael leans in and kisses her Sadhbh is shocked for a second but kisses back when Michael pulls away Sadhbh blushes and looks at the floor

"I've wanted to do that for a long time"

Michael nudges Sadhbh to wake her up as they had arrived at the hotel

"What were you dreaming about that's got you all smiley"

"Nothing I'm just well rested that's all"

As they head into the hotel and check in Sadhbh can't help but think of the dream she had in the car and how Michael kissed her and she can't help but wonder what is going to happen when they talk about it will it be like the dream or will it go bad as they head to the room she's still in a day dream thinking about the dream she just had

"Sadhbh"

"Hu"

"What's up"

"Nothing just debating whether we talk about it now or later"

"And which is the option your going for"

"We can talk as we unpack"

"Okay sounds good to me"

"Great well let's start unpacking then"

They head into the room and start unpacking

"I understand why you stormed out and didn't talk to me for two weeks it was selfish of me no not tell you especially if you had woken up one day and found out I had died I'm sorry Michael I was so stupid to think it was better to have no friends around when I was sick I should have told you when I was diagnosed I should have called and told you I'm literally a crappy friend for pushing you away and not telling you I don't know even want to think about what would have happened if I died I don't expect you to forgive me for my stupidity"

Sadhbh continues to unpack trying to fight back the guilt of being so inconsiderate years ago

"You were scared Sadhbh for all you knew you could have died and it obviously wouldn't be easy to tell your friends that you have a life threatening illness your actions are understandable you were still a kid who didn't know what was going to happen"

Sadhbh turns and faces Michael then hugs him

"Thanks for understanding Mike"

"Anytime, I'm going to go on a walk to explore the hotel wanna come"

"I'm going to finishing unpacking"

"Okay see you in a bit"

With that Michael leaves the room so Sadhbh takes the opportunity to call the girls

"No your not coming home till the holiday is over so sort it out"

"Jay chill it's sorted I called because I need to talk to you two about something"

"Go on what's on your mind"

"When we were on the way to the hotel I feel asleep and had a dream about Michael"

"What about"

"We were sorting it out then he um kissed me that's all cause he woke me up"

"You are so falling for him"

"What pssst no why would I be falling for him"

"Only you can answer that but listen don't come back with a child okay I'm not going to listen to you having mood swings for nine months"

"I'm not going to come back pregnant jeez cool your socks down woman"

"Good well enjoy the holiday"

With that the call ends and Sadhbh finishes unpacking.
