A Dragon's Last Roar

Chapter 2

                                            Natsu's P.O.V

 Nobody knew what I was planning to do except for Erza, Gray, Gajeel, and Levy.  Gajeel said he was going to do it, but I knew how much he liked Levy.  Once I told Levy, she clung to Gajeel at every moment making sure he wouldn't do anything.  The only thing that would stop Acnologia was the sacrifice of a dragon slayer.  Of course we wouldn't want Wendy to, as she's only 12, not Gajeel because of his love for Levy.  I told them I'd go, because I'd do anything to protect Lucy, I didn't want her to end up dying at this dragon's hand.

        When Mavis, the first Fairy Tail master who was also, well dead, appeared,  I got up the courage to do what I needed.  "I can help you!" she cried, and began a spell that made the circle of Fairy Tail member protected by a dome.  Seconds before the spell finished I pushed Lucy's hand into Erza's and ran out of the dome.  I turned and placed my hands on the thing that was keeping the girl I loved safe.  Lucy kept throwing herself against the dome, banging her fists against it, and staring at me with a look of betrayal and hurt.  Beneath the pain flickering in her eyes, I saw hate, and I couldn't bear to look at her anymore. 

        The last thing I saw was Gajeel grabbing her arms and pinning them behind her, Levy wrapping her small arms around Lucy's waist, and Erza and Gray blocking her view of what was happening to me.  Her screams reached me from where I stood.  Acnologia's water hit me hard, but somehow i managed to get up and stand in front of Acnologia.  All the dragon had to do was injure me to make me draw blood, and it would be tortured for all the people it killed.  That was the spell Zeref put on it.  

        Maybe I can get out of this alive one part of me hoped, but I knew that dragon would destroy me.  Shaking this thought from my mind, I offered myself to Acnologia willingly.
