Y/N's POV
A vast scape of lightened up buildings stretch before me as I gaze out of my airplane's window. It ignites a sense of passion in me. It's almost unbelievable that I am literally just a landing away from my dream. A smile unknowingly touches my lips on this thought. My thoughts stray back to this morning.
"Oh my god y/n! All grown up and off to college. It seems it was just yesterday that you were in diapers! Time surely flies.", these words came out between sobs from my mother.
I flush knowing that people in the airport are staring at us while mom delivers her emotional monologue.
"Come here sweetie!" Mom makes her way to me to wrap me into a way too tight hug.
"Ughh...I am gonna choke momma.", I tell her. She completely ignores my protests and continues her speech.
"I can't believe you will be away from me. Oh, how are you gonna manage! I am sure you'll never make your bed and end up living on cup noodles add takeouts. And what about your clothes! You will just stuff them up in your closet. Ahhh..I can't imagine my beautiful daughter living in pigsty. No!"
She suddenly pulls away and looks at me. " No, no,no! I can't allow this! How about I join you? I'll move to London with you. Yes! This way I can ensure your well being."
"What?! NO MOM! You just can't..."i trail off as I see dad making his way towards us.
He has a proud smile on his face.
"Oh thank heavens you are here dad! Mom is on the verge of hysterics!" I tell him and he laughs in reply.
"Oh honey your mom is just a bit sad that you are leaving.",he says while he looks at her fondly.
" That would be putting it lightly.", I say stifling a giggle.
"Honey just know that we are super proud of you for getting into one of the worlds most prestigious universities. Go, live your life, study hard and have fun.", dad says as he hugs me.
"I will dad. I will!", I look up at him and give him a smile.
Flight A036 will soon be departing. Passengers are requested to move to the departure lounge. The voice of a women beams through the airport and it is my cue to leave.
"Bye sweetie. Take care. And contact us regularly", my mom looks at me and smiles.
I smile in return and hop my way towards the departure lounge.
I will be attending one of the worlds most prestigious university 'London University ' in London. I applied for courses in History, Literature and Journalism. It has always been my dream to become a writer and I have always taken keen interest in history so I was really looking forward to my college life. And of course..new friends. I am keen about my social life in college. My childhood bestie Wren had moved to London a few years back and she will also be attending the same university. She is too meet me at the airport. The thought of seeing my old friend and the anticipation of my college life makes my belly curl up in excitement.
My train of thought comes to a screeching halt as the plane hits the runway. The anticipation builds as the plane skids on. The boarding off starts and I pick up my pink backpack and un fasten the seat belt. Standing up, I stretch and make my way off the plane. As I board off a beautiful blonde smiles at me. "Hope you had a nice journey." I smile back.
As I make my way towards the airport exit where I am to meet Wren I can't help but smile like an idiot.
Lost in my own world, I suddenly feel someone hug me aggressively from behind.
