Sea Breezes

I stood facing the ocean as big waves rushed to shore and the wind whipped my hair around my face. The grey clouds and tumultuous water signaled a coming storm. The tall grass behind me moved with the wind and a seagull cawed in the distance. There's only two places i could be, i thought. And one of them i ruled out almost immediately due to the isolation. There was no other living being in sight. The second option seamed all the more plausible as i looked around. Could this be it? But why here? I rarely think of this place, let alone have many memories of it. Yet somehow there's a tugging familiarity, prompting me to really look -like I'm on the precipice of an answer. I turned around and headed towards a small path between the tall grass. A field of green spread out in front of me as i emerged on the other side and my eyes immediately spotted a row of cabins across the field. So it is the place. But why here? I went to summer camp once here during middle school, through a church my parents insisted i attend. I had a good time but it was nothing special. I don't even remember the name or face of the girl who i stuck to like glue due to my fear of being alone. Why is this place significant enough for me to haunt in the after life?
I decided to continue on walking towards the campground as i wouldn't find any answers standing still. It felt like ages before i made it across the field and to the edge of the campground as light rain began to fall. To my right was the first row of white and blue cabins which were all connected, where the girls stayed. And across from the open area from me was another row of cabins where the boys stayed, creating an L shape. Across from the girls cabins was the main building with the cafeteria. It was not like how i remembered -it was quiet and empty but i think i liked it better this way, though it was a little earie. I decided to walk along the row of "girl cabins" and look into each one. There was a covered walkway along the cabins, with the doors and windows lined up on my right. A thin layer of sand crunched under me as i slowly made my way along the cemented walkway. The first door was locked but i peered into the window and saw stalls to the right, and a row of showers to the left. I remember these showers, and how i savored the warm water -not wanting to get out but only having a few minutes to soak it up. I even remember the soap i used -lemongrass.
