-Third Person POV-
-
Two little fillies were digging through the garbage, the older sibling lifting the smaller one to get inside the can to find any type of food. They were starving and had no money to get anything.
"Hello children."
The voice was sweet like honey and enticing. The two fillies were startled and looked at him. The oldest stood in front of her sister in a protective stance, putting on the fiercest look she could, her frail legs shaking at the weight of her own body.
"My my my. You children look like your starving. I am The Ringmaster. My circus tent is just over there."
He points to the right and in the distance they see ponies setting up a large red tent.
The eldest finally spoke.
"We are fine on our own."
He looked them up and down and glanced at the small orange pony with matts in her hair hiding behind her sister.
"Im really hungry Lil'" squeaked the small one.
"You don't have to stay. Just let me get some food in you."
The Ringmaster started to walk away. Little Clown sighed, "Come on Jester." The small fillies trotted behind the Ringmaster in hopes of food and shelter for the night.

Walking into the tent there was a stage in the center with tables set around for everyone. Bowls were being set out for everyone filled with beef stew.
"Two extra bowls for these two fillies, Leo. Leo here is our lion tamer."
Jester barely let out a squeak as Little Clown tried to speak loud.
"Hello Leo. I am Little Clown, this is my sister Jester. We will not be staying long."
The Ringmaster laughed.
"I finally get names to their faces."
They all say down eating, the girls eating as much as they could without getting sick.
Jester let out a yawn and rubbed her eyes, leaning onto her sister.
"You two can stay with Sebastian our magician with his son Shadow. He's about your age guessing by your sizes."
Little Clown glanced at her already asleep sister.
"Alright." She agreed.

The Ringmaster brought them to a trailer with a pony with a big black hat having a rabbit come out of it painted on the side. He knocked on the door, a large pony similar to the one on the trailer yet wrong in some way.
"What" he said blaintanly.
"Good evening Sebastian. I found these two young fillies and I was wondering if they could stay with you to feel more at home since you have a son about their age."
He gruffed.
"Shadow don't sleep in my trailer. He sleeps where we store the hay bails."
"Well girls that's where you'll be staying then."
They walked to the small trailer and knocked on that one.
A small brown foal opened it.
"Oh uh hi Ringmaster I was just uh.."
Ringmaster cut him off. "No I already spoke with your father. Shadow, this is Little Clown and Jester. I found them today and I thought they'd be comfortable staying with you."
"Oh yes that would be great." The two fillies walked inside the small trailer, Little Clown looked back at the Ringmaster as he gave her a look that made her uneasy. They closed the door to trailer a had a small lamp has a light source.
Shadow rubbed the back of his neck. "Well I'm Shadow, oh right you already knew that."
Little Clown shook his hoof, he was smaller than her, but bigger than Jester.
"We won't be here long. We're just passing through."
Shadow let out a laugh and she looked at him curiously.
"Why are you laughing?"
"I'm guessing Ringmaster gave you food as well?"
"Yes?"
"You're gonna have to work it off. And then your gonna have to use more supplies to stay here. So unless you magically get bits, you aren't gonna be able to leave."
"What?!" Little Clown whisper shouted due to Jester already being asleep on a bail of hay.
"He does it all the time. It's how almost everyone gets here. You start working here and eventually learn an act. And maybe you can earn enough to leave. That's how my mom got out."
Little Clown furrowed her brows and considered trying to leave now. She glanced at her sister, sleeping soundly and sighed. Having a safe place to live and food everyday was better than wandering the streets. They were both getting very thin and wouldn't last much longer.
"I guess this is our life now."
Shadow gave her an apologetic look.
"It isn't so bad once you find your thing."
"Oh yeah what's your thing?"
"Uh... I haven't really found it. But I've watched others find it. Well I'm going to bed."
Shadow sat up and walked behind a few bails of hay to his little 'room'. In his area he had small rodent skeletons and a bloody knife. He took a few minutes to look at his collection and hid it under the loose hay.
