I logged on to hockeyjobs.m.teamworkonline.com. I had just finished an internship working with a local women's basketball team, which was great and all, except for the fact that I didn't really have any interest in basketball. The sport I really liked was hockey. That and photography really seemed to take up most of my time. Unfortunately for me, my favorite team wasn't what I'd call local. The Chicago Blackhawks were about 4 hours away from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
I started scrolling through the jobs. Ah, here it is! Team and Fan Photographer.
"The Chicago Blackhawks Organization are seeking energetic and dependable individuals who have a passion for photography and can interact with fans and players. This position consists of working on game nights throughout the duration of the season. During the games you will be photographing fans and players and taking pictures that customers are able to purchase online. You are required to arrive 1.5 hours before the start of each game...."
Blah blah blah. I spent about an hour researching the job and tweaking my resume- here's the final product.

Submit! Woooo! Now I guess I'll just wait for a reply. I decided to treat myself. I just applied for my first real job!
I dialed my best friend Adrienne's number.
"Hey girl. Guess what I just did?" I asked without letting her even say hello.
"Hmm, let me guess. You met Brad Pitt and you're getting married?" She joked.
"No, close. I just applied for the photographer job!"
"Wow! Congrats! This deserves a night out!"
"You read my mind. Come over at 7?"
"Sure thing. Cya then."
While I was waiting for Adrienne to come over I caught up on hockey news. Kane and Toews to eight year extensions!
After all that catching up I got a little bored and checked the clock. 5:30. I'll take a shower.
After I finished my shower I dried my hair and heard the doorbell ring.
"Come in!"
"Yo." Adrienne said, with her mouth full and a full bag of salt and vinegar chips in her hands accompanying it. Adrienne had long, brown, pin straight hair, but almost always wore it up, unless she planned on meeting guys. She was a little bit of a tomboy at times, but always had the best outfits. We met in college.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"I dunno, let's just go somewhere with cute guys. It's time to celebrate with some hotties!"
I giggled. "Agreed."
I straightened my long blonde hair and wore a purple sequin long sleeved bodycon dress. I put on some make up amd was ready to go.
"I wish I had pretty blue eyes like you," Adrienne said,"Mine are just brown."
"But beautiful," I laughed.
We got in the car and drove into a local town's bar. I don't remember much about that night except that Adrienne and I got really drunk, and that she went home with some guy. It was a couple weeks later when I heard about my application.
