Did you cry so much that you could barely see?
You're in the darkness all alone
And no one cares, there's no one there."

Chapter 1

Erin knelt down to examine the body of Carlos Ortiz when she heard one of the officers saying that Androids weren't allowed here, followed by the husky voice of her partner Hank, claiming he belongs to him. The female detective started to smile and walked a little towards the door. The man entered the house with an Android right behind him.

"Look who finally shows up to work. My one and only and absolute most favorite partner, Hank!" Erin greeted him teasingly. "If it were after me, I would still be sitting at the bar." The woman laughed and patted Hank on the shoulder.

When she looked behind the man, she saw the Android still standing there, abnormally straight and watching the two officers.

"Who is this?" , she nodded into the Android's direction to show the older detective who she was talking about. Before Hank could even start talking, the Android had already answered the question. " My name is Connor, I am the Android sent by CyberLife. I was partnered up with the lieutenant and you, Miss Johnson, to investigate in cases concerning deviants."

"Nice to meet you Connor", she held her hand out to Connor which he took gently and shook "and please call me Erin." "It's nice to meet you too, Miss Joh...excuse me, I mean Erin." "It's alright, you're gonna get used to it", she giggled and they let go of each others hand. "Feel free to examine the evidence and let us know if you got anything." The Android responded with a slight nod and a "I'll do so".

While Connor started wandering around the house, Erin walked up to Hank who was standing at a shelf with 'red on ice' on it. He brushed over the edge of the shelf with two fingers and then turned to Erin. "This drug is a fucking curse. You think you got rid of it and in the next moment...just, pufff and there it is again."

His serious gaze suddenly changed to a disgusted and shocked one. "Connor, what the hell are you doing ?!" Erin turned around to see what disturbed Hank so much. The brown-eyed man knelt on the floor and had blood on his index and middle finger. "I am analyzing the blood. I can check samples in real time."

"Interesting", Erin said with pure fascination in her voice. "Disgusting", Hank said, throwing a strange look at her. Connor tilted his head to the side and the female laughed a little at the situation. "I am sorry if I disgusted you, I should have warned you", the Android said, seeming a little confused.

"No, don't worry Connor. Hank here is just jealous because he knows you could take over his job anytime and that you're better at doing his job than he is", she teased him. "Oh shut up Johnson, you know I am irreplacable", he playfully hit her shoulder with his fist and then slightly turned back to Connor. "Just, don't put anymore evidence in your mouth." Hank then left the two to themselves. "Well, I think it's interesting. Don't pay attention to his sensitive ass", she said while smiling at the brown-eyed.

"What else can you do ?", she curiously asked. He started making his way to the kitchen and Erin followed him. "I can reconstruate moments like the one that took place here the day Carlos Ortiz died." "You can ?", she asked, clearly fascinated "would you like to tell me what happened here?"

The LED at his right temple blinked yellow for a short second, but went back to blue just as quick as it turned yellow. "Yes I can do that", he made a short pause and entered the kitchen. Erin followed him like a puppy, still stunned by what he could do.

"The fight started here in the kitchen. Carlos Ortiz hit his Android with a baseball bat which caused it a lot of stress. Due to the shock, the Android grabbed one of the knives from there", he pointed at the board on the wall while explaining. "He then stabbed Ortiz who fell down. Ortiz got up again and threw one of the chairs over when he took the fight into the living room. He left his bet in the kitchen."

He left the kitchen and went back into the living room, walking towards the dead body. "Ortiz tripped on a bottle and fell again. The Android used the chance and stabbed him 26 times before", Connor knelt down and Hank joined us again "he ended the life of Ortiz with a final stab in the heart."

Erin nodded, impressed by what CyberLife created in such a short amount of time. "That seems logic", Erin stated, but Connor didn't seem to fully agree with her. "Yes, but something doesn't make sense." The two officers looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean ?", the younger one of the two asked. "There are no signs of the Android leaving after the incident. It has to be somewhere here, but where ?"
"You said that Ortiz hit the Android, wouldn't that mean that he lost thirium ?" Erin suggested. "Thiri-what ?" The Woman had to smirk.
"Blue blood Hank, blue blood", he looked at her, forming an o shape with his mouth. "Thirium becomes invisible to the human eye after some time, but CyberLife programmed me to be able to see it", Connor made his way to the bathroom, but stopped right before it.
He stared at the wall to his left, then looked up and pointed at something. "There, detective", Erin tilted her head up to see what Connor was talking about. "This shithead has an attic, why the hell has no one of us noticed yet?" Erin exclaimed annoyed while Connor got a chair. "Uh...what are you doing Connor?", the lieutenant asked. "I want to check something." "Aah, alright."

The brown-eyed Android set the chair down and got onto it to get into the attic. Erin and Hank stayed in the hallway until they heard loud noises coming from it after a few seconds. "Connor, are you alright?", when he didn't answer, the detective got onto the chair and popped her head through the entrance of the attic to check before she followed Connor. She then went in there, calling out for him again.
"It's here, detective", she heard him say while walking around a corner, to find Connor and the other Android there. And when she saw the Android standing there in front of Connor with his eyes narrowed and his head tilted to the ground, her heart started to ache. Before she saw him, he was just an Android, but now that he was right there, Erin felt terrible. She knew that the Android would look human, but not once has she realized that he was also going to have emotions like one. All she saw was a human in shock. A human who had to kill his owner, because he treated him like shit. Having to arrest him killed her, but she had no other choice because that was her job.
She petted Connor on the shoulder. "Well done, Connor", she said with a sad undertone. "Let's get him to the station to interrogate him", Erin looked at the Android for another second, then turned around and left.

It was her first case involving a deviant. But also the first case to make  her see Androids differently.
Different; like humans and not machines.

A/N:
I'm finally able to upload the first chapter and I feel like I am doing terrible already. Excuse me the extreme repeat of words and any mistakes I made. If I ever get to finish this, I'll look over all the chapters again and will try to correct mistakes and repeated words.
I hope I didn't do too terrible!
