The smell of wet dog, and fate were in the air. Although, the wet dog smell was overpowering fate. Due to the fact, that the dogs had ran through a huge puddle. Sun-Hee thought about how much it sucked being a dog sitter. But, their owners were rich so she dealt with it.
Dog sitting really wasn't the plan though, so it didn't matter. She was saving up the money, for her probable future life in LA. She applied for a job there, and hopefully was going to get it. Plus, her boyfriend was transferring to medschool over there, just so they could stay together.
Everything was about to turn up sunny for Sun-Hee, she thought. Not paying attention the dogs ran in another huge puddle. I sure need to get these dogs home, she thought. The dogs pulled her in another direction as they saw a squirrel across the street.

______

Sun-Hee later made it home, to see her boyfriend in the kitchen making a huge meal. Which caught her quite off guard, because Tae-oh hated cooking. (Mostly because he was terrible). Sun-Hee sat at the counter, and looked at him in awe.
"I know right, I'm an amazing cook", Tae-Oh said taking some food out of the oven. Right as he said that, Sun-Hee's mom walked in and hit him on the head.
"You liar, you know I made all that", Sun-Hee's mom said annoyed.
"Eomma", Tae-oh said rubbing the back of his head.
Sun-Hee's father sat by his daughter and said, "Don't you start calling us your parents, until you marry my daughter". He then put his arm around Sun-Hee, and pulled her close.
"Abeoji", Sun-Hee said bashfully looking at Tae-Oh. Her dad then pushed her away, after he smelt her.
"Honey, you smell like wet dog", Mr. Lee said.
"Go on and take a shower, while we finish getting dinner together", Mrs. Lee said passing Tae-Oh a pot of soup.
As she got up from her seat she asked, "What are you two here for anyway?".
Tae-Oh simply put his arm around her and walked her to the bathroom as he answered, "That doesn't matter right now, all that matters is that you, and that shower". He pushed her into the bathroom, and closed the door. She didn't protest, because she knew she needed that shower. Just like she knew she wished death upon that damn squirrel. Although, the reason why her parents were really visiting her intrigued her more.

____

After Sun-Hee took her well needed shower, she put on some nice clothes for dinner. Her parents here were for good reason, so she had to let them see her looking her best. Especially, after how she looked when she arrived home. She rushed down the stairs to the smell of her favorite dish. Her mother and father used to make it every time she made an accomplish.
Rather if she sold all her Girl Scout cookies, or if her team won a soccer game Samgyeopsal was there. Tae-Oh was helping her mother set up the table, while her father was cleaning the kitchen . She couldn't help smiling seeing the people she loved most in one room. Seeing how well her parents and Tae-Oh worked together was just the icing on the cake.  Her parents never really liked any of Sun-Hee's past boyfriends, they thought they never appreciated the heritage. But, what did her parents think would happen when they immigrated to America all those years ago.
Tae-Oh looked up at her and smiled, and she returned him the favor.  Tae-Oh kissed her on the cheek, and walked her over to the table. "Let this be one of those great days we remember later in life", he whispered in her ear. She rolled her eyes and gave him one last kiss before they sat down. Her parents yelled in disgust, pleading them to stop being so cute. They laughed, and Tae-Oh poured sparkling grape juice into all of their glasses.
"I'm going to miss days like these, when you and Tae are in L.A", her mother said starting to tear up.
She passed her mom a handkerchief to wipe her tears, "Oh Eomma, I don't know why I even told you about the application, it's only if the job hires me".
Tae-Oh looked over at Sun-Hee and gave her the biggest smile. Which was the same smile her parents shared.
"What's with all the smiling, did you spike the sparkling?", she said swirling her glass.
"No the boy didn't spike the sparkling", Her dad let out a sad laugh, "But, you did get the job dumpling".
Sun-Hee looked over at Tae-Oh and shook he his head. Then she started laughing, but they reassured her with nods. Tae-Oh gave her the letter and watched her eyes sparkle. She couldn't believe what her eyes were seeing, tears of joy soon filled her eyes. "I can't believe that I got the job, it was such a slim chance of me getting it", she cried. Tae-Oh used a handkerchief to wipe off the tears off her face.
"I was expecting a better reaction", Tae-Oh exclaimed with a chuckle.
"Trust me love, I've never been so happy", she said.
For the rest of the night, they talked about there plans one moving. And they celebrated the other part of it.

In LA
Jin had opened up the second bottle of wine on this late night. He was once again having dreams about Hei-Ran. They haven't stopped since the night of the accident. It felt like he was getting punished for an a response he gave no thought for the past three years.
His roommate Namjoon had flipped the switch, to see him shame drinking. Namjoon wiped the crumbs out of his eyes, to give this a good look. He yawned, and whined in disgust when he saw what he friend was doing.
"Jin, you can't be doing this again, this is becoming worse than a bad habit", Namjoon saying taking away Jin's second wine bottle.
"I could do worse", Jin said taking the bottle back from his friend. He took another swig, and looked at Namjoon who was giving him a look of pity. He gave Namjoon back the bottle, and walked over to the fridge.
"You better not go get another bottle", Namjoon said laying his head down on the counter.
"No, just getting some good old fashioned H2O, it's ironic", Jin replied taking a sip.
"You're a sad man", Namjoon added.
"She told me that once", he said looking at the bottom of his glass. SWith that Namjoon got up from his seat, and walked out the kitchen. He became tired of his friend's mood, he couldn't stand seeing him like this. The radiant man he once was -- had lost his glow.
