My love, I took a walk in the sky today.
Hand in hand with the clouds,
As the atmosphere cradled me.
There was so much I could see.
Cities drowned in gray success,
The greens and the blues and the browns.
I could see the life below, love.
And I swear, I could see you too.
You were every ocean, every continent, everything.
Love, you were the world.
My world.
But the sky wouldn't let me go back,
The clouds couldn't release their grip on my hand,
'Cause love, I had to end.
I had to go to nowhere,
And be nothing but decomposed dust.
But I wish I could be back with you, love.
You don't need to cry for me,
You don't need to stop loving.
Don't close up your heart.
Don't make your world colder.
I'm not gone.
I'm just waiting.
'Cause someday, love,
You'll come join me here,
And we will be nothing together, deep within the earth's embrace.
Everything will be fine, I promise.
But I'm sorry, love.
I'm sorry I took a walk in the sky today.
