The seat was freezing. She folded her arms and smoothed out the goose bumps. She saw a file that caught her eyes. She looked around the small room with all these papers. She flipped through a file marked "Jade Bridges"

"Mhm Jade Bridges huh? Let's see what lie they put down." The teenaged girl kicked her feet up on the table knocking over a large stack of folders. She looked at the fallen stack for 10 seconds. "You'll be fine" she said giggling and fanning the papers.

She heard foot steps and a strong smell of black coffee. "Let's get this show on the road" A tall male said while stepping over the mounds of papers. "You need to clean your office Frank." The man picked up his glasses and looked at her with her feet on the table. "Jade, honey you need to take your feet off. Please". She scuffed and rolled her eyes.

He typed something on the computer and she spun the chair around popping her gum. "Hey Frank you want some gum?" - "No Jade" - "Whatever" she said tucking the gum in her back pocket. He turned his chair. "You're everything about you're mom I swear! you're both beautiful but you're like a wilder beast"

She smirked with her double chin showing. "Sit up Jade, you're going to hurt your neck like that!" He scolded her. "Calm down Franklin. I would've thought you were my father. Gosh". She sat up patting her leather vest.

"Jade. I'm your- (long pause)" at the same time she looked at her vest "oh a new pin for my vest. I'm taking this" she picked up a apple pin with best student on it. He began to speak again. "I'm your uncle so I have to protect you. Especially now with your mother being gone" Jade looked off into the green wallpaper "yea yea whatever. She wiped a trickle of a tear off her lid". He handed her a tissue but she only smacked it off his hand. "What am I going to do with you little rebel" he printed her schedule "Here you are Jade. Make some new friends while you're here. You're a brilliant young lady and please don't get yourself in trouble. Even though I'll have to bail you out. As the principle you're now my student but I'm always here for my niece ok" Jade smirked for half a second "Thanks pimpin" she fist bumped him and slammed the door causing the principle sigh to fall off.

His cell phone rang. A female voice began to speak. "Hey Jaden. How's it going with Jade? Have you told her yet?" Franklin spoke "You know I hate when you call me my first name. But no. I can't tell my niece I'm actually her father. How's she going to ever trust me?" - "Well baby you're going to have to tell her sometime. Sooner or later. Let it be now because she's only getting older." - "Yea Mia, you're absolutely right"

The bell rang and a mix of students flew there way to there class. Jade walked the halls. She bumped into a young man about 5 feet 7 inches. She smacked her gum and stared at him. "I apologize brah" He looked at her walking away. "Aye yo shorty. Do you need help. You new or something?" - "No leave me alone" The girl said holding the paper up. "Ok 108..here we go" She made a right and the teen boy already had the door open. "I seen it. This is my class too." The girl flipped her hair out of her face" - "Thanks but no thanks. I don't need or want your help... (She looked in the class and walked in). He smiled and nodded "Yes Missy, I understand fully"

The teacher was trying to calm the class down. "Guys stop throwing paper" There was paper planes, paper balls and gum wrappers everywhere. "We have a new student guys." The boy sat behind her. He studied her. "Class let's split up in threes. There will be a set of two so let's go guys" the teacher clapped his hands and did the twist. Mr.Bell was overly lame but one of the coolest teachers in town. "So who's my two?" - "we are Mr. Bell" the boy from early pointed to Jade and himself and smiled bright.

Jades POV
I honestly hate school. I miss being home schooled so much. It was just me and the teacher I can't focus with people around me. I HATE them all. Oh shit I just broke my mechanical pencil. That stupid boy kept looking at me. What's your problem kid? I asked him he just took the papers from the teacher and passed one to me. Mhm what are we about to do. Let's see ... Edgar Allan Poe. He's awesome. I started to clap and smile ear to ear.
End of POV

"Jade, my name is Graham. I mean if you care to know. Why are you so happy to read about this crazy man?" She flipped her curly hair out her face "if you must know he's my favorite author. He's interesting. I'm not into the fairy tail and lovey dovey shit" He looked at the sheet. "Ok love" She looked through her brow "it's Jade Thankyou GRAHAM"
